$7500 Tax Credit?

Would those who have taken their delivery, give us the details regarding the $7500 tax credit. If you had signed the Nissan purchase agreement last year, does it appear you will be able to claim it for your 2023 taxes?

Not on your 2023 taxes, but yes, current guidance indicates we can claim the credit on our 2022 taxes and many of us have.
For IRS instructions, see the bit starting with "Purchase date vs. delivery date" on this page (and note their suggestion to amend the return if taking delivery after filing):

There's also a thread for this topic stickied in the general forum - see the last couple pages here: Tax rules -- the old rule, the new rule, and ...
I plan on filling an amended claim for 2022 once I have a car and a VIN
I took delivery on 12/31 and just got my rebate from IRS!
Anyone who has claimed it. Did you provide the purchase agreement or just keep on file in the event of an audit?

I kept it (and the confirmation email) on file. There's no place to provide it when filing using TurboTax.

Thanks. I half went through that section of TT just to see.

I kept the paperwork for reference. The only thing to do is fill out the 8936 form for 2022, or amend your existing 2022 return.

The IRS did contact me about a completely separate item, a real estate form, so they reviewed my submission but said nothing about the EV credit form.

I noted that in the Turbotax internal worksheet there is a question about binding contract and a question about built in North America. Neither was filled out on my taxes, but I think they are for future when they start asking those questions.
