Absent hatch cover for the Venture+

really pretty pissed about this. The fittings are all there but you have to buy it in the aftermarket. Ill use plywood first. Really cheap on the part of Nissan for a $50K vehicle. Buy a Kia or VW instead. The personal assistant called and was polite but unhelpful. They wasted money sending virtual reality headsets instead of outfitting the vehicle. Last Nissan Ill buy.

Mine came with one. Did you not check for it when you left the dealership?

The Venture+ does not have the cargo cover and divide and hide panels.

You got lucky, then. I did check and they said it was not included as did the 'personal assistant' from Nissan.

Should have read trim specs before buying?

Petty on their part and, I suppose, on mine but the whole process has been mismanaged. Have never had issues with Toyota and if they hadnt dropped the EV ball would have been a buyer there again.

I read thoroughly the specs and nowhere did it make clear that this was absent.

just as an idea.
If this is the case I would go back to the dealership and say they forgot to put the part in for you))) And if they say it is not a part of the Trim - ask them to show you any official source where it is spelled out....

I thought having the tonneau cover on my Evolve+ was more annoying than anything. When I go Costco shopping, I have to make sure the tonneau cover does not hit my stuff when I close the tailgate. Having the tonneau cover limit stuff I can put in the trunk (like tall stuff). For instance, I bought flower plants from Home Depot. I had to unlatch the cover and remove it which was cumbersome.

Does Tesla have tonneau cover that comes “standard”? Doubtful

Since the Ariya has a small rear window, you may want to tint the rear window dark. No one will see stuff in your trunk.

The cover is big if you need to get it out of the way, but at least it fits in the bottom of the storage area. I didn't see how the Model Y cover fits below. My RAV4 has the window shade type which is easier to get out of the way, it was optional but the car was lower priced.

I think someone previously mentioned the "missing" item and the salesperson took it from another car.

I am curious to know if Tesla Model Y has tonneu cover as a standard feature. I ask because @dpaly called out Nissan as being cheap and stingy, and that he/she wouldn’t buy a Nissan again because of it….
It's not the tonneau , which I agree are pretty useless, but the floor cover over the shallow square trunk. Because this is absent I dont have a flat floor when the seats are folded down for sports gear, sleeping etc and which makes a handy, non visible storage area for cords, tools, spare clothes etc. The aftermarket price of this from Nissan is $1200!!!!

Ok.. In that case, it should have it in your Venture+. Someone must have taken it. I do recalled seeing it in the Venture+ trim.
The salesman and tge Nissan 'personnel assistant' confirmed that Nissan USA decided not to include this in the Venture

I checked out the Venture+ at dealer. You are correct. However, it's pretty darn cool without the floor board because you have a deeper storage compartment in your trunk to store larger and taller items.

Looks easy to make it yourself if you can borrow the dealer's sample to make a pattern and then cut a plywood yourself. Add speaker box carpet type material to the plywood.
What the heck, you bought the stripped model with the bigger battery. i bought the Engage, it comes with the cover and a bunch of things the Venture doesn’t come with but, it has a smaller battery. I’m not going to come on the internet and complain that my battery is smaller..

To be fair, as a reservationist there was no indication that the Venture+ didn't have this item at the time that reservations were made. There are a handful of things like this. Venture+ also comes with a Level 1 EVSE instead of the Level 1/2 EVSE the other models come with (not sure what Engage comes with). It didn't become apparent what these differences were until after deliveries started, and by then people were unable to change their reserved trim. For the floor divider/cover thing, that likely wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't so expensive an item to buy for what it is. I originally had a Venture+ reserved, but switched to Evolve+ mid-year last year. If I'd stuck with my Venture+ reservation, I'd be annoyed by it too, but probably not enough to affect my opinion of the car overall.

There is nothing fair or sensible about the original post. It's just there to bash the car because of choices the OP made. Why pick up the car and pay for it if it didn't include the options you wanted? You didn't do that? Heck, I canceled my original order and got mine from the lot with less options. No one just goes and spends $50K and doesn't know what they are getting. This thread is silly.

It's generally not a good idea to assume that you know the exact circumstances that a given individual is operating under. For me, today, I would have to go over 100 miles away to find an Engage that I could drive off the lot. EV options are not necessarily readily available everywhere. There were a fair number of surprised complaints here after deliveries started about the Venture+ lacking that particular feature, not just OP.
