I just spoke with my dealer in San Jose. The person I spoke with explained that lots of Ariya are stuck in the port down in LA and likely will not be released before the end of the year. He said Nissan needed to deliver 10 vehicles before the end of the year to qualify for Car of the Year type awards. The ten vehicles have been delivered - 8 to Southern California and 2 to Fremont Nissan. If his information is correct looks like next month for us.
I was thinking there were only going to get a few delivered by year end just so they can say they started deliveries this year. Probably Feb before the rest of the FWD are delivered and April and after for the AWD

I’m in the MA and was told by my Dealer the Ariya arrived in port 2 weeks ago. Believe that port is NJ. Going through final quality inspection prior to delivery. Also, said Nissan is trying to deliver to reservationist across the region at the same time. Mighty big logistics challenge. The dealer indicated they will receive a demo at the same time as my vehicle. Pretty sure I am their only reservationist at this dealership. No updates on when I can pick it up but feeling more and more like early next year. Incidentally, I received an email yesterday from Nissan stating my VR headset will be arriving mid Jan. Hope I’m driving the real one before that. I’m in the 109xx range - ordered the Premiere, sunrise copper, FWD.
Any one on this thread from the Northeast ? If so, are you getting similar updates?

PS I posted this update on another thread on this forum. Adding to this thread too so as to keep in many in the loop as possible
I'm in NH but ordered the AWD. What part of MA? I grew up in Weymouth

I received a call from the Dealership this morning that my Ariya Premier is expected to be delivered / available for pick up Friday 12/30 or Sat 12/31. If nothing goes astray then Nissan will meet its promise to deliver by the end of the year. After 13 mos, pretty excited!
There are 4 coming in, 3 headed to CT and this is the only one planned for delivery to Western MA (this installment, at least).
Congrats!

I received this email from Nissan this morning. While I am still waiting for my Ariya to be delivered, I was wondering if those of you who have already taken possession have been contacted by a Nissan Personal Assistant. It seems it might be a valuable service if any tech questions arise after taking delivery of the car.
As an additional benefit to owning your All-New ARIYA,*
you’ll enjoy access to a Personal Assistant** for one
year. This resource is dedicated to make your ownership
experience seamless by providing tech support, help
with vehicle service requests and much more.

Your Personal Assistant** will reach out soon after
your ARIYA* purchase to introduce themselves. In the
meantime, discover all the ways they can help with
your vehicle.
Very exciting. if anyone who has taken delivery get's the call from their new personal assistant, can you do me a favor and ask them where my Ariya is?

I reached out to my dealer if they had any info on build or ship dates. They called me back and said they don't have anything specific but they spoke with a Nissan rep who told them 3-4 weeks for the AWDs to start arriving. I honestly believe they're mistaken and that it's really 3-4 weeks for them to start getting the FWDs but I'll live in the fantasy for a little while. They did just receive their demo. I test drove my local dealers Engage trim last week. My dealer shared with me that they agreed to a pre arranged agreement with Nissan and were could not sell their demo any sooner than 6 months post delivery. An additional stipulation in this agreement was that the odometer of this demo must read no less than 4,000 miles when sold.
If it gets close to that in under 6 months can they sell it? Get everyone you know to go there every day and insist on a long test drive to really get a feel for it.

It seems like Deliveries have really slowed down??Has anyone got updates from Dealers? Are they sitting at PORT waiting inspection, Maybe still on ships? I thought for sure by now things would be picking up. Any AWD getting new info:
I don't believe more than a few AWDs have even been built. Last search I only found 1 review vid of an AWD and that was on a closed track. I'm not expecting them till Summer or Fall at this rate. If we suddenly see a flurry of review videos of them that would change my view.

The dealership where I have my reservation does not have anything shown at cars.com, although they do have the "not for sale"demo now on their own website. Kind of slim pickings right now in the Pacific Northwest. Oh, well. Patience.
Not all dealers report to Cars.com. The dealership I originally chose and have always used is not listed but on their website they are showing 2. There are likely alot more out there than shown on Cars. com

Yesterday was my first sighting of the Toyota Bzx4 on the HOV lane. I really think it's a butt ugly EV with those weird black body claddings and the angular shape. The Ariya is 10X better looking SUV. I get so much attention. It's like driving a $200,000 car because it's so rare and beautiful.

If Nissan is making only 6000 Ariya for 2023, that's great for current owners. With the limited production volume, it's as unique as driving a Porsche Taycan. 😍. Never in my life had I ever own a vehicle where people drive up so close to see my ev. With those black tints and white/black dual body paint, it's hard not to take a second look. It's a head turner.

Living in the heart of EV nation (Orange County, CA), I have yet to see an Ariya and Fisker Ocean roaming our streets... FYI. Fisker HQ is here in my backyard of Irvine, CA
The BZ4X is an abomination that I feel Toyota is going to basically walk away from soon. Everything about it is just awful.

I really hope so. My ability to keep holding out with zero answers from Nissan or the dealer aside from "Early 2023" is waning rapidly. I feel like my view of early 2023 is vastly different from what Nissan's is.

Hmmm. One of the reasons I am sticking with Nissan is the proximity of a dealer to handle any problems I encounter over the next ten yrs of buy and hold. Our local dealer gets five star reviews. Perhaps auto companies need a different revenue formula for dealers ....zero on new car sales, but decent revenue off services and used car sales. Just order the car and have it delivered either to your home or the dealer. Perhaps there are other business models that could work better. There is room for a hybrid business model that releases the whole silly sales tension. Perhaps Mazda, Subaru or Mitsubishi could experiment 🙂. Good japanese products as well.
When I say get rid of dealerships I mean the current system. Instead of independent middle men (current dealership model in the US), The Brands own and operate their own dealerships. Price and process would be the same at every "dealership" for each brand. It would eliminate most of the BS we experience currently and overall costs could go down.

Sure, no problem. Let me know . I live nearby Tustin Nissan or we can meet at the closest EVGO station on Edinger/55fwy

I sat down with Nick (GM) and Jonathan while waiting to get my wheels installed yesterday. I told them where they need to improve in their salesmanship. I told them dont sell just the car and hand over the key to the buyers and expect us to know how to use the charger at the EVGO station on our own. They need to educate and train their sales people so they can prep the Ariya owners on the expectation and how to activate Auto charge+ feature. If the user experience is POOR at the EVGO stations, chances are they will regret buying the Ariya because of the poor user experience.

EVGO stations are not like Tesla SC where many Tesla owners will be happy to help the Tesla newbies on how to operate the charger while there.
For Ariya owners, it's just YOU and the EVGO charger ALONE by yourself.
This is one of the many reasons I want the current dealership model to die. My last 3 new cars I walked in knowing significantly more about the car than the salesperson. One time he legit got mad and argued with me when I corrected him on his false claim. (2011 Murano. He was adamant that there was a lifetime warranty on the CVT, that ended in 2010. I knew that, he didn't) All they seem to know are the tricks to sell you, not about what they are actually selling.
