Regarding size; yes the Lyriq is 197 inches long, compared to 183 for the Ariya. My Mazda CX-9 that the Lyriq is replacing is 199 inches long, so I am opting to not get a much smaller vehcile.

It took about a year between the time I reserved an Ariya and when it was delivered to dealer. I was just informed that it'll be 18 - 24 months wait time for a Lyriq. :(
One of these could have been yours....

Well, I'm still leaning toward the Lyriq even if the rebate is only $3.5K. I generally keep vehicles 10-12 years (currently driving a 2012 Mazda CX-9) and don't mind paying a little more for something I beleive is worth the cost.
Hello Sir,
I've been thinking right along the same lines.. 👍
Even though I already have my Ariya, I'm Not Impressed.. It's already having issues.. I've seen some post here where they've had to have theirs Towed to the dealership. Mine was D.O.A. one evening I went to get in it.. Thank Goodness it croaked in the garage and I had the needed equipment to resuscitate it.. 🤕
Recalls, Slow Charging, and Overpriced.. pretty much sums up the Ariya. The Lyriq has received nothing but praise from all that have reviewed it.
I was thinking Blazer SS or a loaded RS.. but, at that point, I think it's best to go Full Luxury instead of Horsepower Sporty.
The Caddy will have better resale value as well.. These 1st Gen EV's will only be good for about 4 years anyway before Solid State Battery Technology renders them Obsolete.
May as well spend the next 4 in style!
Good Luck if you do go Lyriq.

Yeah, I've been waiting going on 10 months for a Lyriq. I've hedged my bets on getting an EV this year by putting a deposit on an Ioniq 5 and getting on a wait list for an Ariya at my local dealership. It might come down to whoever can get me one first.

I'm going to let my Evolve+ go. Don't know if you could get it at the same low price I'd pay, but you're welcome to it if possible.

If you really want the Lyriq, maybe my friend's neighbor may want to sell one of her Lyriqs. She ordered two Lyriqs (one for the mother and one for the daughter). They live in Laguna Hills, CA.

I can't imagine her daughter wants the Lyriq because it's quite BIG. They never seen the actual car in person. I showed the mother the photos I took. I told her I was surprised how big the Lyriq was compared to my Ariya.

Appreciate it. I'm holding out for AWD in all possible EVs. Given that I don't believe Lyriqs have been produced yet with AWD, I'm guessing they have RWD. It's a must feature for our snowy midwest climate. I actually got a call from our Cadillac dealer about someone backing out of a RWD Lyriq this past week, but had to turn it down.

Just placed a (pre) order for 2024 AWD Lux 1 Lyriq. Cadillac hasn't actually begun taking hard orders from dealers yet. They've got to fill all 2023 model orders first. This just gets me in a (long) line of people wanting one.

Dealer also said planned production run for 2024 model is only 18K vehicles and there are more than 18K people ahead of me in line to get one. :( They have 175 preorders just at this dealer.

So, odds are that it might be a 2025 model that I get in late 2024 or early 2025. He did confirm that they're only marking up MSRP $1.5K, but who knows what 2025 model prices will be. Perhaps by then GM will figure out how to source more of the critical materials going into their Ultium batteries and I can get full $7.5K tax incentive.

For me beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the overall practical size of a car is factored as well. The Lyriq for example is huge when compared with the Ariya. So in my application the Ariya because it is smaller is “right sized“ for me. I compare the Ariya vs Lyriq equation to my first car a (57 Chevy) when compared to a 1957 Buick Roadmaster. Both cars were popular in their day, but the Roadmaster, it was huge by comparison!
Agreed. Lyric and Ariya do not belong to the same size category, nor do their respective MSRPs. That said, at our local auto show the Cadillac booth was right in front of the Nissan one and I can tell that the Lyric was an eye catcher. The inside is quite pleasing, and with a larger volume to work from there are things that look great in this car that I'd not want to see in a smaller car. This car would not fit in my garage, which is a bit short, plus it is not eligible to any govt incentive because of the starting price. That limits their customer base to more luxury-oriented people. Good! There were some turnoffs to me, like this odd metal piece to help opening the door. Oops, the 2024 will not have this "feature" but normal handles instead. The designers pushed it too far, it seems. It was a bit fun to watch the archetypes of people gathering around the different models, electric or not. The Ariya was mostly surrounded by empty nesters. The Ioniq and EV6 by younger people. The Electric Hummer by... well, Hummer lovers.
@gregmooty waiting another year before you get yours is a good thing, as they will iron out the design wrinkles. Cheers!

If you havent heard, our binding contracts that we signed back in Aug '22 qualify for $7500 tax incentives.

So, in case you haven't "let go of your reservation", you may want to reconsider again? Hard to let go unlimited EVGO charging, $1240 discount to early reservation holders, and 2.59% interest rate financing.
