Ariya spotting

I saw my first Ariya in the wild.

It was driving south from Daytona towards Orlando on I-4... a white Evolve with Daytona Nissan plates. I stalked it for a few miles. I thought it was an ID.4 from a distance but as I passed it I realized what it was and decided to stalk it from behind lol.

With supposedly fewer than 3500 sold nationwide to date, actually seeing an Ariya in the wild can still be somewhat of a rare event. My first sighting was a base trim silver Engage about three weeks ago.
I can always spot my gold premiere in any parking lot. People frequently comment on how good the color looks.

gold, you meant the copper color? I haven't seen any in the wild yet, though I know a few have been purchased in my area.. my travel route and time are kind of unpopular...
I've only see one copper Premiere in the same area 3 times. So even in SoCal it is not too common yet. A coworker sent me a picture since he saw a white one on the highway after he saw mine and knew what they look like.
My wife's previous car was a red Jeep Grand Cherokee. She was my lady in red. Now with the Ariya she's my Golden Girl. (OK, copper).
Golden Girl sounds so 80's .. I think golden compass sounds better...
Spotted my first wild Ariya. Copper Premier on rt3 south in NH. It flew past us. My wife was driving and I asked her to catch up to it. She tried but couldn’t keep up with it. Then I drove her nuts with “don’t feel bad, there’s really no way your Highlander could match the power and speed of the Ariya”

She was not amused.

Hello there I am at Alex from Miami. North Miami. There is every possible car on the planet in this city. I have not seen the Ariya in Dade or Broward County. And apparently nobody else has because every time I stop somewhere, somebody asks me “I’ve never seen that car before. Is it a Tesla or a Lexus?”

I love it. I’m a trendsetter.

Welcome to the forum! I'm curious which color and trim of Ariya did you get? Earlier in the year when the Ariya were just starting to be delivered, Florida dealerships were notorious for doing the "additional dealer markup" thing, even to the reservationists!
I did not make a reservation for the car. They had plenty. I have a black Venture +. What do you mean by ”additional dealer markup?” I mean I can figure it out but I’m not sure what context you’re referring to for the car. I don’t know what the price point was for the trims prior to what they are now. I leased. I think the sticker price was 48k

Some dealerships were marking up the price of the vehicle by 5k, 10k, whatever they thought they could get away with at the time! Some reservation holders reportedly walked away when presented with that.

But as much as they have plenty on the lots, it's true the Ariya is still rather rare on the roads!

We bought ours in northern NJ in January and haven’t seen any in our area. However, while in Florida, we saw 1. ( we didn’t drive). We are now in the San Francisco area and we are actively searching. None so far. We have seen a lot of Teslas’s though

Teslas Teslas everywhere in California!
I had another spotting in my own neighborhood yesterday! It was the gray color. Don’t know the official name.

Welcome to the bay area. Come on down to San Mateo county. I take my evolve in gun metal gray for pleasure drives up and down El Camino Real. Love the car!

That’s great. Would love to, but only visiting. Helping my son move to Palo Alto area. Ours is white with the black trim. Looks sharp. We love our Ariya as well.

Is your son attending school or moving in a beautiful home? LOL. If your looking for a great restaurant with prime rib, try out Sundance steakhouse on El Camino. Good weather this week so you came at a good time!

Thanks. I will let them know. He bought a place. He and his wife moved there bc my daughter in law is a surgeon at Stanford hospital. My son works in IT. We hope they can afford San Fran. It’s expensive.

This is a great place for people in the IT world as Silicon valley is now almost the whole bay area. I'm retired IT and my wife works at the Stanford blood bank. We have lived in San Mateo county over 30 years. We always say we couldn't buy a home here today. Like all parents, we never stop looking out for our kids. They will be find living here. Enjoy your visit. Hope you post about to road trip home.

I saw a Mercedes EQB300 in Laguna Beach this morning. It looks small compared to the Ariya. Honestly I do think the Ariya is best value for the price and the best looking SUV EV.
