I’m dedicating this thread to discuss any neat tricks and tips that we Ariya owners should be made aware of.

First of, I was told by Nick at Tustin Nissan that if you plan to go on a vacation where your Ariya is left unattended for several days and weeks, he said do not leave the SoC below 30%. I forgot what was the reasoning behind this. Usually with my ICE, I would remove the battery cable

He also said if you accidentally leave your hood ajar, it will drain the 12V battery.

If your infotainment system experienced a blackout, please do NOT panic like I did! A month ago, I plugged my Android phone. The LCD infotainment system went completely dark. I freaked out. To cut through the chase, I found this video. Please watch it and memorize the feature if it happens to you. Stay calm because Hank has you covered. 😆

How do we reset trip #2 on the left? I tried everything and looked it up but don't see no information
Hey @Tonejr83 ! I was wondering about this myself, and think I discovered the solution by accident... if you press OK on that screen (just press, don't hold), it will switch your main display to Manual Reset2. From that point, you can hold OK to reset Manual Reset2. I only discovered this because I accidentally pressed OK one time when I was trying to use the scroll wheel... pressing OK on this screen changes your view between "Since Charge", "Manual Reset1", and "Manual Reset2"

Not currently. It's not just a software difference. There's also additional hardware.
Like a second fin on the roof.
I had been using the rear view intelligent mirror and recently noticed there is a menu on the mirror itself. I did not know what it was for. I thought it was a touch screen where if I press on the menu, a submenu will come up on the mirror. Nothing happened. I finally realized there are buttons right below. Those buttons are for adjusting the camera lens so that from your driver seating position, the image is front and center. Pretty cool!

Love the unobstructed view of the LED mirror. Sure beats having to look past the back seat head rests.

The new Polestar 5 that was recently introduced in Shanghai Auto Show has NO rear window. It has a camera like ours to view the back side.

That just seems crazy

It certainly requires a lot of trust to have no rear window. I don't fully trust hands free yet especially not alongside a 10 wheeler. I grab the wheel before the green light comes telling me to put hands on every time. I'm more alert with hands free than with hands on. 🥴 Trying to get over my angst ain't easy.

Great tip.
I usually bring my iPad to watch FuboTV or YouTube videos while waiting for my 45 mins charge. Watching it on infotainment easily drains the battery. It does not take much...

Last night, I went from 17% to 96% in 45mins.

Sounds a bit controversial :)

Seems like the 12V battery is not charged while the main battery is charging. Be careful not to use the Infotainment for too long while charging - My back up/360 camera went black likely because of this, and didn't come back after the 12V battery was recharged.

I noticed when browsing the USB stick you can choose Artist, Album, etc... and video. I didn't try it yet, but I assume that's what you're doing?

yup
I just tried it, it played 2 music videos I had that are 1080p, 2 other files didn't show in the list, but I think they are different format. It says video will play again when car is in park if you put it into gear, but the audio track will play so you can listen to music, etc.... Nice.

Yea. I played 4k mp4 files without any issues.
Anyone else have issues with rain or car wash water getting underneath and inside the charge port door flap? I'm not talking about the latch covers on the charge ports themselves, but the car's outside door flap. Consistently whenever my car is subjected to water, I have found water droplets inside the charging area even when the outside flap is closed. There is no seal bead on the flap. On a gasoline car this is normal, but to me it seems to be a design flaw when that flap is protecting a pair of high voltage electrical sockets.

I'm wondering if anyone has added an all weather seal around the inside of the flap as more protection from unintentional wetness.
It's just how this one was designed for whatever reason. They put good gaskets on the smaller covers inside instead. FWIW, I live in an area that gets a fair amount of precipitation and haven't had any issues from it.
Perhaps you are inadvertently opening the the port door by pushing the charge button on the left side of the steering wheel and leaving that door open. (It's the button to the left of the open rear trunk button.) That's what I think I did a few times and my port door was wide open once while I was driving, unbeknownst to me. I remember fiddling around on that side and may have punched the wrong button. I suspect that unlocked my port door. I'm trying to be more careful now, when I punch that button.

Nope. Door is firmly closed all the time. Today we had some heavy rains all day long. I was out driving in that rain for 28 miles. Got back home, opened the charging flap door...and there were water droplets all over the interior - on the inside of the flap, the surrounding walls, and covers of the charging ports. I had to towel dry the interior before I even opened the Level 2 (top) port.

Tomorrow I'm going shopping for some flexible weather stripping for the interior of the flap door.
