I took delivery of my Venture+. Great car. One issue is the there should be a cover in the rear cargo area. Right now I look into a carpeted well. Dealer says he will check for the cover. Anyone else have this issue?

I saw on the Nissan site for build your Ariya that you can order a three piece weathertech set. It only showed the front piece, but it looked like it went all the way across the the front seats. If the rear seat piece is also one piece, then the 3rd piece would be for cargo floor cover. Something to look into.
Also look into Canvasback. They make a heavy-duty fabric covering that can go around the entire hatch area, including the sides and back of the rear seats. I've had it in my last couple of cars and really like it. I don't know if they'll have a set for the Ariya yet, though.

Yes! It looks weird. I asked Nissan and they said it is so you have even more room! But the floor is not leveled where the carpet is on the trunk. I understood that the Venture+ had no cargo cover, byt missing the actual floor is odd. Still want my car, just sayin.

The specs show the Venture does not have the divide and hide cargo system, which is basically the floor pieces, so that model has the floor in the lower position.

This makes the cargo area unusable if you need all the floor space. There must be a retrofit. I did not see any spec which showed no cover for the luggage space.

Yes for a 47k car not to have the cargo cover took me by surprise, it’s just plain bizarre. Not a deal breaker but come on Nissan…..

Nissan made some quirky decisions with regard to what features they decided to delete on the entry level Ariya with the big battery. I consider the Engage trim to be the entry level (fitted with the small battery) since it’s about three thousand dollars less expensive than the Venture + fitted with the big battery. Whats strange is even though the Engage model costs considerably less than the Venture+, its comes equipped with many features that the Venture+ is missing. For example the divide n hide system missing in the Venture + cargo area is included with Engage trim. The Engage trim also gets an electric driver seat with memory, electric front and rear seats, and an electrically heated steering wheel. Such a marketing strategy seems counterintuitive to many.

I think it's because it's the only small battery model, so they made it mid trim, because who would buy a small battery stripped model? In the US not many want the small battery to begin with, apparently in other countries it's somewhat popular. Having 50% of the US inventory this way is not good, but I guess it's for that particular price point.

For the Venture they should have at least listed the cargo cover and divide and hide as options so people understood that.

They build far too many models. I got the Engage, the Venture+ has a slightly bigger battery that I didn’t think I would need and there was no way I wanted to do without all the normal things a car should have. I’d say the Venture+ is just as much of a base model as the Engage. Some people feel they need the extra range and are willing to do without some things I consider basic.
Trying to decide if there’s enough interest for a trunk mat that fits perfectly. We scan the trunk yesterday but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of market interest for aftermarket trunk mats or rear seat protector.

I was actually hoping there would be a nice cargo mat with a ridge or something around the edge to contain spills or messes. I think the European market has something, and the Japanese market had several designs offered. I inquired with the Ariya personal assistant as to whether there were plans to offer an all-weather cargo mat, but the answer was something along the lines of "it's what you see on the accessories website". I would have liked so see something similar to their all-weather floor mats.

trying to decided if to do it and if we do it, whether to pursue xpe or tpe. Molding is quite expensive and not sure if there is a market for it.

My Platinum has a rear cargo cover. It's in 2 parts, a front section and back section.
I was hoping for a weather tech one but i would be one to another brand

I put my name on a waitlist at WeatherTech. They list the Ariya as "coming soon". Perhaps do the same in order to show them interest???
leaning toward doing it; going to use XPE, quality will be like the spider 3d but priced more reasonably.

If you could make a cover extension for the seat backs, I would be interested! It doesn’t have to be integrated into the cargo bay cover, but having a way to connect them would be nice.

What is a cover extension?
