My dealer keeps assuring me I can change model and color, that they will inform me when my "allocation" is ready to be built and that's when I decide. But I keep reading many of you have "got the call, my Ariya is in", with no mention of opportunity to change color, trim level, etc.

Nissan North America is, as always, no help.

Can anybody clarify this for me?

Thanks,
D

Um. You may only be able to do that if you can edit in the Nissan Ariya portal. Once a car matching that description arrives at the dealer you selected they can sell it to you at any price they like or to anyone else willing to pay that price if you don’t give in. You can look for other cars with different trim and colors but they are not your “reservation.” The reservation is only an opportunity to buy a car that matches intial the description you already selected on the Ariya portal. It is likely that Nissan has screwed up their initial delivery plan by repeatedly delaying the arrival of the car and then rushing the sales process to compensate.

I ordered the Platinum+. Early Dec I could still change dealers which I did as my original choice kept telling me they were going to mark it up, just not sure how much. At the time I could still change other options but didn't. Now on the site I'm locked in even though I doubt I'll see it for a few months and likely hasn't even started getting built. I'm very disappointed in the baby blue interior as the only option on the Platinum. I also choose red so that will look nice and odd. Well done Nissan!

Red platinum + here too! I saw the blue interior in one of the demo cars…I think it’ll look fine with the red. However I have read that if you would like to change the trim you can contact Nissan and the dealer to arrange for it. Haven’t done that personally. Coming ti the crazy mark ups, apparently Nissan has instructed dealers that they cannot mark up reserved cars. If they do, their Ariya quota gets revoked. In fact my dealer did confirm the same. So I’d say push your dealer. Alternatively if you’d like to switch to a different dealer, that can be done by contacting the new dealer and Nissan
