Since there are no AWD Ariyas yet, there aren't any vehicles that Nissan supports for installation of the hitch yet. No idea why they would limit it, but that's what the site indicates. We may have to wait for an aftermarket option.

There are 2.0" adapters for the 1.25?

ETrailer is a great supplier for just about anything related to towing. Note that your bikes will bounce around a lot more when using a hitch adapter like this though. It puts your rack that much further away from the wheels, increasing the lever arm. You're better off getting a rack that will work with either 1.25 or 2 inch hitches.
