Today I tried to fast charge at Electrify America and the plug got stuck in my charge port. My car was unlocked and nothing customer service suggested worked. Other people charging came over to help and also could not release. The only possible solution was to send a tech rep who was hours away. Since I was at a shopping center, I locked and left my car and went to dinner. Returning over one hour later, I tried again and the plug released quickly. Any thoughts on why that happened?

I understand that you are euphoric from the Ariya, but before operating the car, read the operating instructions. It clearly says: Close all doors and lock the car with a key. Then unlock the car with the key and your charging port will be unlocked.

Thank you. I did read that and it did not work, but possibly because Electrify America customer service was steering me differently. I realize that with all my successful charges, I did exactly that. Sometimes hard to digest all the info in the manual, but you are correct. Thank you again.

When I was for the first time to EVgo I had the same problem. I called customer service and they told me to press the buttons open and close five times (open, close,open, close...5times). Though it seems crazy It worked. There were 40F and I was very happy not to stay in cold. There might be other ways but I still did not read all that fat book.

In this video: click here at min 1:15 you will see on the driver panel the "Charge connector Lock" screen. Maybe that will help to unlock the connector.

Thank you very much. I did make sure the charge connector was in unlock, but it was locking the car and then locking that finally released it. The videos are very helpful.
