California has 7.25% on New cars but you must also check County and Local taxes so now California could average 9,133%. Check your state and local taxes so you dont have STICKER SHOCK. These fees also suck beacause our $7500 Federal Rebate is still up in the air?????

The California new vehicle fee DMV calculator is here. It is about 9% of the selling price, but it's been that way for awhile. Could be more if your sales tax is higher.

6.75% here. In Ohio, cars get the standard sales tax rate for the county. Having to pay sales tax should not come as a surprise... It's not new.
