My dealer in Lake Havasu City, AZ spoke to Nissan this morning and was told they would be receiving their demo Ariya this month or in January. Delivery of their first sold Ariya would be a month or two after. They may NOT sell their demo. It looks like it will be January or February before I get mine as I am number one on their sold list.

Everything considered -the timing your dealer described today makes perfect sense. ie Nissan can officially declare the Ariya launch in the US in 2023 was on schedule by sprinkling a few Ariya demos throughout the country. Once the Ariya dealer demos are in place each dealer can contact reservationists and schedule a test drive. After test drive, the dealer will confirm if the reservationist wants to proceed. If the reservationist does elect to proceed, then the dealer will actually place the final configuration order with Nissan production by confirming the drive configuration, trim, color, accessories , etc. chosen by the reservationist. (the initial Nissan Ariya reservation document as we paid our $500 deposit does describe this procedure) So as your dealer explained today, the timing of this process will easily launch us into January or February before the first wave of reserved FWD Ariyas arrive.

Is that really the same thing though? I believe the communication we've always gotten was "The FWD models are expected to begin delivering late fall". Not sure if demo units count as delivering?

Then again, playing semantics won't change the inevitable lol.

So this would likely mean the AWDs will realistically be late spring/early summer. This is why I now have deposits on a couple of other cars. I'd prefer the Ariya but I can't keep waiting forever while interest rates climb and my trade in value plummets. It's now a game of first come first buy for me.

extra wait = more saving for down payment 😅

Another delay….. lol……and wait till it does finally comes in, after 13 months of waiting and the dealer says….. we are marking the car up 5k beyond the MSRP.. Be prepared.
Call around to the dealers in your area. The dealership I chose which I've worked with for years says they'll mark it up, just not sure how much. The other dealership near me said they won't. I changed my reservation to that one. Had them email me this so I had it in writing.

Salesman isn’t the guy in the know. Car market is slowing, interest rates are up. While EV’s are getting much more popular I see the ADM dropping on new cars. Plus, Nissan just isn‘t a premium enough brand to warrant ADM.
