Although illegal in many states, not having a plate on the front bumper is arguably more aesthetic.
Unfortunately, many dealers feel compelled to mount a front plate, which obviously leaves unsightly holes when there is no plate.
To remedy, first - clean up the pilot holes with an Exact-o knife so that the surface is flush.
Then drill out the hole with a 1/4" bit. Wood Circle Electric blue Window Button

Gitcha' some of these black poluethylene insert able plugs at an Ace/HD or wherever.
Vertebrate Natural material Magenta Wood Carmine

Paint to desired body color (don't forget to clear coat).
Fix to bumper with a tab of clear sealant.
Viola! Automotive tail & brake light Tire Grille Car Vehicle

Not a perfect solution (don't let dealer mount a front plate if possible!), but can't beat the cost?

What a great solution! I live in a state where we must display a front license plate, but I may not always live here!

Wow! That's a great solution! Fortunately, Ohio no longer requires front plates. Mine came with a bracket but the dealership just left the bracket sitting in the back.

Did you have the touch up paint color, or did you just match it yourself?

I specifically requested my dealer NOT to mount the bracket at the front. They made me signed a waiver.
AB13 - matched it myself with Dupli-Color spray from AutoZone.
Milano Red came close enuf to Ariya's Passion Red.
Don't forget to clear coat the plugs!

Lack of front plate in BC is a fine of $109 CDN ($6.50 USD).
Rather than drilling holes, I have elected to take my chances… Albertans don’t require a front plate, and they inundate the area in the summers, so driving behind the police will assume I’m from Alberta, and driving in front will see my plate…. I will be hooped if pulled over though. For awhile, I will claim the bracket is on back order, since I seem to be the only Ariya in the area.

Willing to pay the fine twice… Just can’t bring myself to drill the holes.
Similar down here in SoCal where our experience is a warning that can be cleared by bringing the vehicle to a PD with the front plate "installed".
Wink, wink (aka 2-sided tape). Which gets removed a block after leaving the PD!

I bet, but in SoCal, probably won’t run into the same cop twice?

Was the front bracket installed BEFORE you purchased your Ariya? If not, you could have told your sales guy to NOT install the bracket.

Let this be a lesson for those who have NOT picked up your Ariya yet. Decide now if you want the dealer to install the front bracket before heading out to the dealership to sign the contract.

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: But what if, at the PD, they "test" the robustness of the attachment? I don't know if they'd be inclined to do that though...

Chances are we will run into the same cop 2-3X over. Each cop is assigned to a particular sector. In my areas of Irvine, Tustin, Newport Beach, there are many Teslas without the front plates. I guess it’s not a big deal to them if we don’t have front plate installed.

Could be one of those things where they would add it on when there is a laundry list of other more important citations, would not waste time citing just for not having the front plate displayed.
