I picked up my car on April 1st. After agreeing on the deal, one of the sales specialist scheduled by first 6 month maintenance appointment. I recalled reading on the Nissan USA webiste they were throwing in 3 years of scheduled maintenance. The specialist said no, its only the first year. I went home and later googled EV carefree+ and this is what's covered...

  • EV Charging Assistance: Nissan is providing buyers or lessees of the 2023 Ariya and LEAF with complimentary charging offers on one of the nation’s largest public fast charging networks, EVgo. Ariya buyers and lessees receive one year of unlimited public charging1 with EVgo, while LEAF buyers and lessees receive a $100 charging credit with EVgo2. In addition, Nissan provides owners with a seamless home charging solution in collaboration with Wallbox3. Nissan also has the largest network of high-speed EV chargers at U.S. dealerships4.
  • Included Maintenance: Scheduled maintenance for Nissan EVs is included for three years or 36,000 miles. All service is performed by Nissan-trained technicians at EV-certified dealerships. A Tire Hazard Protection plan is also included, keeping owners covered in case of tire damage.
  • EV Battery Health Assurance: Every Nissan EV comes with an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty. When it’s time for service, Nissan’s network of experienced EV technicians provide comprehensive multi-point, EV-specific inspection reports.
  • EV Roadside Assistance: EV owners are covered by 24/7 Roadside Assistance, including out-of-charge towing to the nearest Nissan dealership, charging location or even the owner’s residence. Roadside Assistance coverage is active for three years or 36,000 miles.

I will be contacting my dealer for clarification. Hope this is helpful to the Ariya forum family. Cheers!

Thank you for the reminder about EV Carefree! I printed the info out from my reservation dashboard and put it in my "car buying folder" to bring with me.

Dealers often have no idea what they're talking about or worse, scam people when it comes to included maintenance. Years ago I bought a Murano and the dealer said the "dealer" was throwing in free oil changes for 3 years or 36k. Had to use their service dept. After a shitty experience with my 2nd oil change I dug further and called another dealership. They looked me up and it showed that I had the Nissan Maintenance Bronze Plan. I could go to any Nissan dealership for service. I then reached out directly to Nissan Corp to explain what was going on. They apologized. My original dealer basically charged me for this plan but buried it into the price so I never saw it anywhere. They admitted that they had numerous complaints on this dealership doing it and for my troubles upgraded me to the Platinum Maintenance plan for 5 years/60K. It covered basically everything.

It's always a concern of mine that unscrupulous dealerships would attempt to do these kinds of things. Glad that they made things right.

When I got my first offer write-up, there was an item maintenance care that was a $3500 item but didn't foot anywhere. The internet sales manager then went through it first thing me he said is he's about transparency and this is an item you do not have to buy. The cost was broken into the monthly financing which was about $63 a month that would be essentially buying extended maintenance and repairs. I turned it down down the coverage. I'm sure some sale folks take advantage of the buyers enthusiasm of buying a new car and slip in things they get commission on. I would definitely buy from this manager again. But to be clear, TV carefree+ is included with all purchases. There's also 3 years of roadside service.
