Factory Build Date vs. Delivery Date?

Well, it's finally happened! My dealer contacted me to see if I was still interested in my 19" wheel AWD platinum+ order, and they had a build sheet in hand. For some odd reason, my order has become a black car vs. a boulder gray vehicle, but I'm OK with it.

So here's what I know:

The build sheet says it was "ordered" on 3/13/23, but has a "FEB SCHD PROD" and that the vehicle status is "IN PROCESS."

With that in mind, for those of you who has gotten their reserved Ariya, what would you guesstimate on the dealer delivery date? I'm up in Seattle, so the vehicle delivery port in Tacoma is very close by.

My main concern is that the dealer says they suspect the AWD car is 60 days out before it'll be at their dealership. My problem with that is that I have a 4 month military deployment coming up in 30 days! It'd be a bummer to wait all this time and have the deal get squashed at the last step.

It almost seems like they are trying to match you up with an AWD that they'll be receiving? Might be worth it to call around some other Seattle area dealerships and inquire what they are expecting on their lots and especially if they can meet your time frame -- maybe they'll have your color choice. Alternatively, in 4-6 months things might be better for buyers? I reserved an FWD, which was reportedly built in February, and is expected to arrive in late April.

Well, it just so happened that Tustin Nissan has 2 Black Diamond and 1 Boulder Gray Platinum E4orce on their lot. 😅
I’d recommend seeing the inventory of other Seattle area dealers. I found the car we wanted at Nissan of Bellevue, and they were able to transfer all of the credits our deposit. I was happy with the way it ended up for us after getting lots of inaccurate information from the original dealership. Bellevue seems to have a decent inventory now too.

That’s good to know. I assume they applied the reservationalist offer/discount and didn’t toss in any nonsense surcharges, other than the port installed extras?

The only nonsense charge was clear protection coating and a lifetime of free car washes on the car but that can be negotiated. It was an easy in, easy out transaction which was what we wanted.

mad im currently waiting on mine I can shed some light.
my Ariya was schedule for a January production. My dealership did some research last week and found out it was built in March, was assigned and “in port” in las Angeles as of Monday April 17th. The shipping sheet had lots of detail on it with the following next steps:
Transport to rail yard
On train
At regional facility
Out for delivery.
