I saw this as well. It's like it hurts him to say anything good about the Ariya. And the constant complaints that it's not a good choice for road trips. Come on, are any EVs at this point? Sure you can but not ideal. 90% of my driving is within an hour range of my home with the occasional 1.5 our "road trip". My current vehicle which I've had for almost 8 years, only once did I take a 5 hour road trip. I'll be perfectly fine with the Ariya, just like most people will.

He uses the worst use case scenario to judge and EV, road tripping. Which is rarely done. What’s even more rare is actually using a fast charger for me. I’ve only really had a need three times in the last several years of owning an EV. I start with a full charge charge everyday…

Exactly. Every time I tell anyone I'm getting an EV the first comment is always. "How far can you go on a charge? Aren't you afraid of running out?" My current car gets around 450 on a full tank. I fill it about once a week. The Ariya is basically like having the same car with a tank half the size only it starts full every single day.

Had an interesting case over the weekend where I actually did fear running out. We went to visit friends that live west of Richmond, IN. Not a big deal - 180 mile round trip. When we got there, we decided to go see a movie, which wouldn't be a big deal if we could have seen it in Richmond. Ends up we were going to Muncie, IN for the movie. That added 70 miles (round-trip) to the overall trip, pushing me up to 250 miles total. There are some Level 2's, and exactly 1 slow DCFC (at a Chevy dealership) in that entire region, so not a lot of fallback options. We made it with 8% left on the battery when we got home.

I like the idea of topping off charge every night/day, so new drive w full charge and no range anxiety at all. We typically take a 10hr road trip to OK at least once a year. Not many charging stations on our route. adding a few hrs of charging will send me banana not including 3 teenagers in the back :) I'd be tempting to leave them there. Our Traverse is the dedicated road trip car for now.

yes, and the testing I've seen shows there's probably another 5% left when you hit 0%

Mr. "respected reviewer" learns something new about stable charging curve and still has more to learn about the Ariya. He has a fan base of followers and knows how to generate interest without necessarily telling/knowing the truth.
Each EV has its pros and cons. Some pros and cons have estimated market values (tax incentive situation, power sunroof & shade, HUD, rear & 360 camera view, ...) and some don't (styling, uniqueness, ground clearance, build quality, drag coefficient, UI arrangement and usability, ...). The Ariya undeniably has pros that other EV's don't have or more expensive to upgrade, and I bought my Ariya Evolve+ after comparing it to EV6, Mach-E, BZ4X, MY, M3, ID4, Ioniq5 and test driving all of them, and it still has the best price (original MSRP - tax incentives) with all the wanted features compared to other similar EV's.

I guess it's similar to hitting Empty E but you still can "scoot" to gas station :)
