Front License plate

For those of us in area's that require front license plates anyone any ideas?

My ariya arrived not fitted for a front number plate. Good old California requires them.

Dealer doesn't really have an idea.

I had been looking at a vinyl one, but some of the shaping at the front that does not seem to fit.

Most CA cities don’t really enforce front plate because it consumes too much time for the officers to pull you over for minor infraction. In our areas of Irvine and Tustin, there are tons of Teslas without the front plates.

I texted my dealer over the weekend to tell him NOT to install a front license bracket on my Ariya.
Looks like you should be able to use a tow hook plate mount. You can also try Sly Brackets, which would connect to the lower grille. Sly Brackets would prolly be willing to work with you to get a proper fit on such a new model.

I got a "Fix It" ticket by the parking enforcement for not having front plate on my Civic Si many years ago...that was in SF.

Yes, SF is notorious for giving out tickets for no front plate violation. I had a ticket too while visiting SF. That was about 15 yrs ago.

Washington State is very strict about their regulation for front plates as well. So Nissan must produce an OEM bracket

I specifically requested Nissan of Tustin not to install the from plate bracket and they honored it. They kept the bracket in the trunk.

Maybe depends on where you are. Not to jinx myself but I haven’t run a front plate in probably 10 years. Southwest Washington.
Probably a regional thing. Tacoma North to Seattle are many cameras that expect to take pictures of the front plates when/if anyone commits an infraction. So if you’re lucky with no front plate WSP will pull you over and just give you a warning. Stop you a second time for the same offense is an entirely different story.
The car comes with a front bracket. Please check in the trunk where you found the charger, manual, etc. Then look for 2 dimples in the front, and screw in thru the dimples. That's it.

I will have to double-check the trunk in the morning. I see the dimples.

Proably make the service shop do it, cos I mess these things up :p

I was ticketed in Irvine about five years ago for no front license plate, and the motorcycle officer pulled me over only for that reason. He was stopped at a cross street, saw my front end as I was driving into the intersection, and pulled up behind me and turned on his lights.

That being said, I asked Tustin Nissan also not to install the bracket. I got my Northern Lights Premiere a little over a week ago, and have the temporary paper plate sitting on the dash. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to find a no-drill solution or just leave it off and take a chance.

The dealer requires signing of a front license plate acknowledgement document to make sure that we understand that a front license plate is required in California.

yes, the darn Irvine PD on a motorcycle!!!!! I once got ticketed for not wearing a seat belt. I was just about to put my seat belt on when I stopped at the intersection light. The cop came from behind and peak through the front passenger side window. Bamm! Ticket.

I also noticed that Irvine PD will cite you for littering if you smoke and flick your ashes outside the car window. I was right behind this vehicle at the stop light. The motorcycle cop was waiting in between lanes. As soon as the driver flicked his cigarette buds, I knew this guy was busted. Sure enough, as soon as the light turned green, the cop turned on this lights.

BTW, I once applied for Irvine PD. I passed their exams, and went in for my panel interviews. I didn't get the job.. It would have been a great job....eat doughnuts all day and do nothing. ;)
Yup the plate holder was in the trunk.

Dealer is having the service center fit it for me friday.
