Hi! I’ve been eyeing the Ariya since it was announced. I drive a 2018 Leaf SL but I’m wanting something larger with much more range due to my long commute. There are many other options coming (Kia EV6, Ionic 5, etc.) but I’ve been brand loyal to Nissan for many years. I don’t want to get into the luxury segment due to pricing, but I was a little shocked at how high they priced Ariya. For now, I reserved a Platinum+ boulder gray pearl/black metallic with 19” wheels.

For some reason I like the Ariya. The inside looks very high class and it seems that it will be easy to drive especially for old folks like us. I am a retired Airline pilot and my feelings are based on my experience with high tech flight decks. I have reserved a Platinum+ in red because my grand daughter selected the color and I am sure that she will be the one driving it pretty soon. The only reason I will change my mind will be if the EPA range is not as good as expected.

Welcome to the forum guys!

@Kennyp354 Did you ever consider the EV6 or Ioniq 5? Or were you set on the Ariya?

@KVR I agree the Ariya has a stronger presence when you see it against other EVs. Which color did your granddaughter select?

Welcome! Have you guys started to think about what your home charging station should be like?

She selected Red.

I have considered the EV6 but not the Ioniq 5. I love Kia vehicles, and in fact we own a Kia Stinger. However, I felt the EV6 lacked the refinement and elegance of the Ariya. The Ioniq 5 just didn't speak to me at all design-wise.

I currently have a level 2 EVSE in my garage for my Nissan Leaf which it came with. I'll need to replace it for the Ariya, but I'm hoping it comes with a new EVSE. Does anyone know if it includes one?
Apart from all the high tech, we also need to consider what we are used to in day to day driving. The rear view is very important to me and just by looking at the pictures, I feel that the view will not be obstructed. As of now I feel that the Ariya will be best for me and my family. As I mentioned in one of my previous post, all depends on the overall range figures that that is certified by the EPA. If they are at par with the advertised numbers then I will be happy. If not I will consider another EV.
