I was pleased to find this forum on the Ariya.
I am retired and have the new car itch. Been interested in auto efficiency for years and have been following the offerings from several manufacturers. First ( years ago) I was excited by the Prius and then the Prius Prime, then the Tesla and the ID models from VW and now it’s the Ariya from Nissan.

I am glad I waited because from what I have learned Ariya may turn out to be the best choice yet.

Welcome to the forum @Philariyan! Is the Ariya going to be your first EV?
Hey @Philariyan. What about the Ariya makes it the best choice to you? Just wondering because I have my own reasons for choosing it. Those being styling, size and sportiness. Apparently Nissan worked in Z sports car DNA into the Ariya and that to me is BIG.
Yes, it would be my first EV and first new car since my 1968 BMW 2002.
I like the fact that Ariya is a model Nissan is using to signal their comeback from financial and management mistakes with an emphasis on excellent design. the car is beautiful, sporty. Nissan has 10 years of EV building with the Leaf. The company knows how to build cars to high quality standards. I believe the car will be efficient. The change from air cooling the battery to water and using a heat pump are important to me. They have worked hard at reducing air resistance and weight and noise. The e4orce drive system sounds very promising and the powerful motors suggest quickness. I like their incorporating design elements that are Japanese in flavor. I have always loved Japanese art.

Welcome @Philariyan! I completely agree with you, I think the Ariya is going to signify a huge turning point for Nissan. The styling is going to win a lot of people over.

I'm very jealous that you owned a brand new 2002, it's such a good looking car. How long did you have it for?
Until 1989 when it was totaled by a drunk teenager, a very sad day.
