Since we don’t know if Nissan will offer special interest rate financing for the Ariya, how are you planning to finance it?

I ordered my Ariya at the LA Auto Show back in Nov 2021. This allowed me 13 months to save up. I plan to pay cash in full unless Nissan offers really low interest finance.

I found this credit card from Chase. Once you open the account, you get $900 cash back if you spend $6000 in the first 3 months. It’s a great deal. Tustin Nissan only allows $3000 to be charge on a credit card. Any amount over that would need management approval. So, if they can accept $6000 on my new Chase credit card, I will get $900 cash back, This credit card has no annual fee. Plus, you get 0% APR for the first year. They have other great perks too!

I wanted to share this promo to the peeps on this forum. Easy money!

BTW, After further reading, I honestly had no idea that Chase offers referral bonus to new members who sign up for the card. So, if you click on my refer link, I will get bonus points. My intention is not about getting bonus points from those who signed up, but $900 cash bonus for opening a new card is hard to pass up for little effort…

please note that it took me up to 7 days to get my new card in the mail. Once my Ariya is ready for purchase, I will be ready with my new Chase card. If Tustin Nissan does not allow more than $3000 on the card, then I can use the card to pay for my property tax which is due Feb/March 2023. Planning ahead can save you $$ 😉

Thank you all in advance if you decide to use my referral code. 🙏

Not sure where you live but our property taxes have to be paid by check. Credit cards are charged a fee of 2.39%.
yes, paying your property tax will incur a credit card processing fee. It’s still worth it if you can get $900 cash bonus in return. However, It would the “last resort” to pay your property tax with the credit card since it will defeat the purpose.. Please keep in mind that this new card has a time limit for you to purchase $6000 within 3 months. Property tax will be around that time limit in Feb/March if you are desperate to find ways to spend it. Plan B.

If your Nissan dealer accepts credit card payment on your Ariya, why not take advantage of this offer? The Tustin Toyota across the street from Tustin Nissan accepts $5000 on your card payment. Dealership varies. I know a Mercedes dealer accepts no more than $10,000 on the card.

OH! The $6000 spent will also earn you 1.5% cash bonus! This equates to another $90 cash bonus.

It’s always good to plan ahead…

Do you need a business to get this card?
i am not certain if you are required to have a business. If you are a non business customer and is able to open the account, please let us know. I do know from time to time that Chase has been heavily promoting this offer. I waited as long as I could to apply knowing that my major purchase would be in Nov/Dec because of the Ariya

After taking whatever I am able to receive on the trade in of my 2017 Nissan Leaf and applying the $2,500 credit the State of Oregon gives (directly to the dealer) on the purchase of an EV, I will finance the balance by a loan to myself. Instead of paying interest to a lending institution, I will make monthly payments to my own account. It is a prudent way to go if you have the resources.

Lucky you. The “green” state of Washington gives us nothing on EV’s over $45k. As a matter of fact I have the pleasure of paying even higher licensing fees than on a gas car or diesel truck.

Legislation has been introduced for the 2023 Oregon legislative session that will provide for rebates on the purchase of an electric bike. Rebate recipients will be granted up to $1,200 to purchase a non-cargo e-bike or up to $1,700 to purchase a cargo e-bike, plus qualifying equipment. The bikes must have a minimum retail sales price of $950, according the proposal. Several Oregon communities already offer modest e-bike rebates, some depending on income levels. E-bikes have become very popular here in Bend. I joined that group almost two years ago and have used the bike instead of the car on several occasions. While we have bike lanes on almost all of our streets, one needs to remain visible and vigilant while riding in traffic.

The higher EV registration and licensing fees we pay is our contribution to road maintenance. Since we drive on our state's roads, it is only fair. We're still way ahead in the savings we realize by not having to purchase gas or diesel, which includes the state taxes for roads. We've been driving the Leaf for almost six years, saving more than $1500 per year on what would have been ICE costs for gas. The increased registration fee is a drop in the bucket by comparison.

While I can appreciate that, Washington bases our EV licensing fee on 15k miles driven per year. I drive 5k. They have proposed a pay per mile program but not sure how they’d implement it.
There's a kind of pay per mile program in Oregon called OReGO that is supposed to charge 1.9 cents per mile, but I have not explored it. Supposedly it reports miles traveled with the help of GPS and all. Pre-pandemic, just commuting back and forth from the office was around 6k for me, but then there's grocery getting and driving by others in the household. Although, maybe I won't let anyone else drive MY Ariya!

Great minds think alike. I too plan to put down $X from my business checking and borrow the remaining funds from my personal account. My business will make interest payments + principles on a monthly basis directly to my personal bank account. My business can write off the interest expense. However, my business will need to issue a 1099-INT directly to me as a vendor . The question is will I report the “interest income” when I do my 1040 tax return? 😉. Whistling….

Good news! Tustin Nissan accepts $5000 on my credit card according to the sales person who went on a test drive with me about 2 weeks ago. At first, I was told by Linda that they accept only $3000 on the card.

so if you want to take advantage of this Chase credit card deal (spend $6000 in the first 3 months of opening, receive $900 cash bonus), please use my referral offer when signing up.

Special thank you to the two people who took advantage of this offer. 🙏

You Get An Ariya! You Get An Ariya! You Get An Ariya!

Much appreciated. Does it require that you have to have a business in order to open this Chase Business Card? Although I have a business with Chase Business Banking, I don’t think this card requires you to have a business of any type?

You will make $900 cash bonus, plus 1.5% of your first $6000 spend. That’s $990 cash bonus! 🥳🥳

It does require to enter info for a business but doesn’t seem to validate it. I used my home info for my consulting business without any issue.
