I know this may sound bitter and crazy but I'm starting to feel that the Platinum+ is significantly further out than Nissan is letting on. Why do I think this? The FWD models have just started trickling in. This started end of December and continues and a very slow pace. Now for the last 9 months or so there were many many review videos of people testing driving these or giving overall walk arounds. Always the FWD models. I've still yet to see a single Platinum or AWD version video. You'd think buy now some would have been made that shown up somewhere in the world for people to see or test but no. I can't really imagine a scenario where they just suddenly appear at dealers in the US before we've scene videos of these being reviewed somewhere in the world for at least several months. Best guess I'm feeling mid Summer.

I feel you have 'read' our Platinum+ issue correctly! I, too, have a pre-ordered Platinum+ and recognize the same obvious LACK of any AWD reviews ... except for a Leaf eForce 'mule' they trot out for reviewers. Nissan is certainly taking a huge step BACKWARDS in the EV market if, after announcing their Ariya YEARS ago, they cannot deliver on their promise until 'sometime' in 2023. The technologies in newer EVs may already surpass those of the Ariya. However, that said, I have very different reasons for continuing to await my Platinum+ delivery: (1) It remains one of the taller EVs for my 6'4" frame & 79 year age (e.g. easier ingress/egress); (2) for my tech-fearing spouse, it doesn't 'appear' to be so futuristic for her acceptance; and (3) I seek a COMFORTABLE, QUIET (I'm hard of hearing and car noise impacts me greatly) commuter vehicle which needn't offer the thrill of excessive acceleration or a long driving range before needing charging. Yes, looking at today's—and future—EVs, the Platinum+ would appear to be at the higher end of cost. But if Nisan gives me the comfort I seek in an EV, I'm willing to pay a premium for it.

I’m staying for similar reasons, every time my frustration boils over and I start seriously looking at other options. I end up back to where I started with the Ariya Platinum checking all my boxes.

There's a review video on e-4orce here:

Well, well! Finally SOMEONE reviewing an Ariya with e-4orce!! And it appears that the reviewer was VERY impressed with what it purports to offer to drivers ... a 'smoothing out' of accelerations and braking 'tilts' of the car. And, frankly, that's one thing I would add to my list of "comforts" promised in my Ariya purchase. One point leaving a bad taste in my mouth: I desperately wanted a Platinum+ in the Copper color—being the #1 color Nissan has been marketing—but my pre-ordered Platinum+ ONLY comes in the Red color ... my 2nd choice. Why, oh why, did Nissan deny the Copper color to the initial Platinum+ buyers??? You'll note that THIS reviewer's e-4orce Ariya WAS IN THE COPPER COLOR!! I'm a bit depressed watching this video because of it.

At least the baby blue interior doesn't look as baby blue as I've seen in some other videos. I got the red as well but by choice. Would have preferred the option to chose the interior like charcoal or that lighter cream I've seen.

I ordered Platinum plus as well for all the reasons cited....but most particularly Japanese build quality, dealer support, and comfortable mid tech interior as per reviews. Our last and current vehicle is now 12 years old and going strong (Acura MDX). Looking forward to full electric with AWD and creature comforts. Several on this forum suggest lyric as an alternative....but I have never trusted gm ....sorry. Aryia will be worth the wait! Hang in there.

I dearly wanted that copper exterior to be available for the AWD, too. Settled for a Premiere, and thinking about trading when the time is right!

They are at least manufacturing them, according to another users post e4orce delivery

The question is whether Nissan is focusing on delivering FWD trims or AWD trim. Based on their current communication I wouldn't expect to hear anything (good or bad) until March. But at this rate I'm considering inviting Nissan to my funeral to carry my casket so they can let me down one last time.

Have you checked with your dealer since late last week for a build date update? I test drove a FWD Engage trim last Tuesday and at that time my dealer could only see my contact information, trim and color of the Ariya I reserved. However I checked back Friday after reading in this forum that Nissan started releasing build dates late last week. So I would be interested to hear what dealers are telling AWD reservationists now since Nissan finally started to communicate build dates with their dealers.

Nissan has dropped the ball on costomer service. Dealers no nothing and it’s up to you to get what you got coming.

Here is what my dealer tells me: Nissan does have a portal for tracking the location of incoming units but this is only for units that have identifying information attached and no dealer has access to that on the Ariya AWD’s at this time. When I look in the portal, no ETA is given but instead it says PROD-Dec/Jan/Feb which means Production – Month.

As a follow up, with a lease on a Honda CRV expiring 3/1, I was able to extend my lease to 5/1. Sadly, my dealer has no further follow up on the AWD, but I am hoping that the AWD will be in my hands by 5/1.
