Infotainment screen blackout?

Turned on my ariya and found middle infotainment screen was blacked out, or off.

I don't recall ever doing anything different when I turned off my ariya earlier in day but couldn't figure out why no display.

After rebooting/restarting ariya..same issue.

I finally thought to try and hold down volume control audio on/off button x 10 seconds (like a cell phone reboot) and it came back on. 🙏🏼

Anyone know if that button serves as the on off button for entire infotainment screen? It freaked me out at first that I had a crapped out screen. Will keep an eye out but I'm guessing I may have just turned it off?

Any thoughts guys?

Yes, this happened to me the moment I plugged my Android phone into the infotainment system. This happened one time. My lcd screen blacked out. I was on my way to my usual cruising to Laguna Beach early morning but I ended up aborting my joyous joy ride to Laguna Beach. I had to pull into the residential area to figure out what went wrong. I was able to operate the camera and see the curb on the lcd screen but nothing else. The screen was blacked out. By the time I got home, I found a Nissan video how to turn the infotainment screen on and off. I’ll search for it and will post it over on the Tips and Tricks thread.

My case was bit different I think. It didn't even have the shortcuts on left side of infotainment screen like in vid above. It was tot blacked out. I held down the on off volume control button for 10 secs and it rebooted. Almost like when ur phone crashes n u have to reboot same way....

Why it did this tho I'm still confused.

It happened once on my Ariya, and I think it's related to the 12V battery running low. I recalled while charging the main battery for 1 hour while it's off, I kept using the infotainment with Apple Carplay continuously. After charging finished and backing the car, the infotainment froze but it came back 15 mins later after driving & leaving the car idle with blinking green light (recharging the 12V battery). Since then, I've always kept the car on if using the infotainment while charging, and haven't seen the issue again.

It seems the volume knob button hold for 10 secs may be the reboot tho. I couldn't find anything tho off manuals...?

I don't know if that's listed anywhere, but I think it's a common procedure. My Toyota is that way, hold the volume button down for several seconds too reboot
