Very interesting. He can’t drive it yet, but his overall impressions are very positive.

Interesting. Car looks great and I think I heard him say they are using CTLA batteries. That has me leaning towards looking elsewhere. CATL's NCM 811 battery cells are problematic - PushEVs
I would be surprised if Nissan used batteries that are a fire hazard.

But maybe when they said that the car would be exciting to drive, they had that in mind.
I'm probably over concerned and maybe the story is old news....but I will look into this prior to putting my deposit down

Hello guys is there any update on this topic?
Makes sense.
Is there any official source quoting that the Ariya will use Chinese CATL NCM811 batteries? Nissan still seems to pour money in its own AESC facility (now co-owner With Chinese Envision 80% - Nissan 20%) Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

AESC-Envision also seems to progress the NCM811 battery type (5th gen). So the question is why CATL? Envision AESC's NCM 811 Batteries To Exceed 300 Wh/kg In 2020
In my understanding the Ariya will feature Nissan’s own latest AESC-Envision Gen5-811 AIoT battery, which capitalizes upon the accumulated wisdom they acquired on the purity of the manufacturing process over the years with the AESC Leaf batteries … to be scaled up in Japan, China and Sunderland, etc to cope with global demand.

If there is more evidence on that CATL is the vendor for the Ariya post it here.
