Overall dealer was good. They did tell me they would sell at MSRP with no add ones. Of course I never made it to the Finance guy to actually see if that were true, but based on what others have posted I don't see why the wouldn't. Since you mentioned the waiting list, one could say I did the dealer a favor by canceling my reservation because now they can sell over MSRP to whoever walks in of the street. As for canceling the reservations, not having the EV tax credit, limited cargo size and other factors is what eventually swayed me to cancel. I have written at length in the "Bad News $7,500 tax credit" thread about my reasons for canceling. At this point I don't think I am going to sway anybody one way or another other especially on an Ariya Forum. What I will say is I am glad I cancelled and I have no regrets about purchasing. I know if I did purchase I would have some regrets.
"Limited cargo size"? What do you typically haul?

I can understand not having the EV tax credit for the cancellation. Assume you could get the $7500 tax credit but Nissan raised the price by $3000 for inflation adjustment since the order was placed, and the dealer had marked up $5000 over MSRP, would you still BUY it if you could get $7500 tax credit?

Hey Hank, even with the tax credit I probably would still not buy. As for hauling I’m not carrying a lot of stuff on a daily basis, but I do have a large amount RC gear I take racing on weekends so a good size cargo space is needed.

It’s just really too expensive for what you get. I have a reservation on the Blazer and Silverado EV so once those hit the dealer I may buy one of those. For me it really comes down to the EVs are still significantly higher than an ICE and they still have a lot of problems. I follow the VW ID Facebook page and the issues I see are ridiculous, yet somehow people just brush them off like it’s okay we’re early adopters. I also have started to see some grumblings on here about the Ariya. Right now I have two ICE vehicles everything works on them as it should and one is a Toyota Landcruiser that is 29 years old. I decided it was not time for me to be the canary in the mine and I didn’t want to deal going to the service department for issues.

Once they reach price parity then I will feel better about buying. Also a lot EVs are coming to market in the next couple years that are gonna blow the Nissan out of the water on price and specs.
GM dealers are notorious for huge MSRP markups. Good luck! Maybe you’ll get one in 2024 for Blazer and Silverado. BTW, check out Ram EV.

They're already here (Polestar) and not inexpensive. There's also Vinfast, which is Vietnamese but has similar labor costs, and they're also not inexpensive (or very good judging by reviews). XPeng and BYD are likely coming, but once they've been modified to meet US regulations, invested in appropriate facilities (showrooms, service arrangements, etc.), shipped them, been taxed for importation, or built here if they're going to do that, I'm skeptical that they'll be significantly less expensive than other options and likely more expensive than GM. I think it's going to continue to be hard to beat GM for price-competitive EVs.

As someone else speculated, it wouldn't surprise me at all if this Tesla price drop proves to be temporary. While it's here though it certainly does make the Model Y more attractive! I like the Ariya better and can afford it so am sticking with my reservation, but if I didn't already have one on the way I'd seriously consider the Model Y. IMO, Nissan needs to consider a price decrease for the Ariya and also move production to the US so that it qualifies for incentives.
Think poor resale value on the very old Model 3/Y. I wouldn’t touch it. I’m good and smart with my money! Lol

I am supposed to be signing a contract for Aria soon. But yesterday's Tesla price reductions is causing me serious heart burn. The Model Y with AWD and 330 mile range is coming to the same price as Aria Evolve +. Under these conditions not sure if anyone has been able to negotiate to knock off few thousands off of MSRP from Nissan dealers. Has anyone negotiated?
my next door neighbor has a fully loaded 2022 Dual Motor Model Y with a little fancy spoiler. He realistically does NOT get over 300 miles . In fact, I teased him that his Y can’t even make it to Las Vegas without stopping. From SoCal to Vegas, itis only 262miles. He must STOP at Barstow to chargeup before continuing his journey. He also complained about the glass rooftop. It gets so HOT that he had to tint the glass roof. Stupid Tesla does not have sun shade cover. 😂
