The EV prices will go down once more competition enters the space and the Chinese brands make it to US shores. We’re are starting to see that now with Tesla dropping prices on there vehicles. This is only going to hurt the Nissan Ariya. Which unfortunately Nissan deserves to lose market share. They had poor comms with reservation holders as to when there vehicle would arrive. They did not provide any guidelines on if we could get the EV tax credit. They dragged their feet on deliveries. I mean had mine arrived in 2022 good chance I would have purchased because of the 7,500 tax credit. I am also seeing they added kick plates and floor mates from factory which raises the MSRP. The floor mates is no big deal but the kick plates is a simply money grab. Finally they just did some really dumb things with one of major complaints being a non power driver seat in the venture+. I mean at least add it as option to buy.

Also, the Chinese EVs are undercutting the competition and losing money just to gain market share. Similar to what Amazon did early on.
I am supposed to be signing a contract for Aria soon. But yesterday's Tesla price reductions is causing me serious heart burn. The Model Y with AWD and 330 mile range is coming to the same price as Aria Evolve +. Under these conditions not sure if anyone has been able to negotiate to knock off few thousands off of MSRP from Nissan dealers. Has anyone negotiated?

I don’t know if anyone has, but try it and let us know how it goes. But if your already starting to have “heart burn” I would just cancel and get a Tesla or wait and see what the market does. I can promise you will end up with buyer’s remorse if you purchase the Nissan and loose a ton money. This thing is gonna be like the leaf in a couple years. Lame and cheap.
My only issue is the new rules come with income limits and we might not qualify. The commercial leasing is very much up in the air. If we had qualified for the new tax credit, 100% I would cancel Nissan right away.

I do hope though Nissan does something for reservation holders and initial customer base. Even knocking off $2k off MSRP in addition to reservation discount will help. No matter what Tesla is still the benchmark for EVs with better software and fully up charger network and better efficiency. The Tesla price drop yesterday is a game changer. Aria instantly became overpriced significantly.
