Finally got both my front and rear cameras installed this weekend. Installed a Viofo A139. Running the rear cable wasn't as bad as my wife's car, and I only had to pull out one panel from the body.
That looks great! -- an unobtrusive camera that fits nicely behind the rearview mirror. I'd like to get one that can incorporate a view out the rear, too, and possibly an in-cabin view...

Would you share the location and what wire you tapped into for Dash cam. I’m trying to do the same. 2023 Nissan Ariya I assume. Thank you.
There is a 10-pin connector that goes into the front camera unit on the drivers side. On that connector, Pin 1 is GND and Pin 6 is +12V IGNITION ON. If you follow those wires there are a few points where you can tap into them underneath the plastic connector that houses the Passenger Airbag Light.

Be aware that my camera runs off +5V DC so I have a +12V to 5V DC-DC converter inline with the power cable to the camera.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you break something, proceed at your own risk/peril. ;)

Thank you for the additional details about your dash cam install -- it's very helpful and makes the task seem a bit less daunting! Are you using the Viofo hardwiring kit? It touts a neat feature where it can be configured to cut off power when the battery goes below some set threshold to avoid draining it -- ostensibly for when the dash cam is operated when the car is actually off or parked.

Nah, I have enough electronics expertise to where I didn't want to spend more for that kit. The dashcam runs off a supercapacitor when the vehicle is not turned on and supports a limited amount of recording while parked.

I may switch it to run all the time, but I'd like to see how the current battery performs. Tesla replaced their 12V Lead Acid batteries with Li-Ion and I kinda wish that Nissan had done the same, since I'm not sure they're well suited for EV applications anymore.

Dash cams ... I welcome your thoughts and experiences regarding dash cams. Worth it for documenting incidents (and near misses)? How easy for a handy person to install (or leave it to the pro)? Just one for the windshield, or another looking out back? Nissan has an oem dash cam that can be installed in the Ariya -- for those who went that way, how does it perform? There's a super tiny Garmin that's unobtrusive, how does it compare? There's lots of articles on the web comparing all kinds of dash cams, I'd be interested in reading the opinions and experiences of my fellow forum members.
We have the mDrive Duo dash camera. It works well, but we have not had the ability to connect to the cloud. We have the correct internet connection and password enabled and I know the car hotspot works as I connect to this care hotspot with my phone. The camera will NOT connect to the cloud and we can't find any customer support to help us. Has anyone figured out how to connect to the cloud?

Did you try connecting it through your home wifi to see if it works?

Yes, I have a verizon hotspot and could not connect to the cloud via this. The car has an AT&T hotspot and could not connect to the cloud via that. I have not been able to find a URL connection point and have not found any customer support sites for mDrive. So not sure how or where the cloud connection can be done?

Does this company have a website? I couldn't find anything.

Great question, I have been asking the same question. How can Nissan market a dash camera
Dual Camera Drive Recorder Part Number: T99Q6-5VG0A that has NO customer service site or link?
I have not find a customer service site. I contacted Nissan customer support site and they can't help me either. Seems very strange that a Nissan certified product does NOT have any customer support pages.

Some have mentioned that the Nissan dash cam is a rebranded Thinkware -- maybe check out their site? There might be some useful nuggets...
