Losing miles while the car is off

Hello everyone! My girlfriend recently just got an Ariya about a month ago and we noticed that the miles go down when the car is off. For example we will turn off the car and it will have 211 miles, when we want to drive it again it’ll show that it has 205 miles instead of the 211 we saw when we turned the car off. Does anyone experience this with their own Ariya? Is this normal? She has the venture+ version of the car.

When you said, “we want to drive it again”, what was the time interval? The following day? A few hours later? My answer would be “Depends on the temperature”

EV range is a moving target. You never know what you’ll get when you power on the vehicle or when you go to charge your vehicle. I hear the same story with Teslas and others.
Hello everyone!
Hello.. 🖐
Even with all the issues I have with my nissan.. phantom drain has not been one of them..

Usually we’ll want to drive again about a couple hours later so the phantom draining happens over a few hours of it being off.

What is the temperature when starting up the vehicle again? Colder? Did you use heater to warm the cabin before and after starting back up? I suspect you live somewhere very cold.
If you see the green light blinking while your car is off, some of its electricity is used to power the 12v battery.

Does the percent charge change, or just the miles? The miles will adjust based on recent driving habits and conditions in order to estimate how far you can go on the remaining charge assuming you keep driving in a similar way. It's better to look at the percent charge.

I used a stopwatch on two occasions. On average, the moment I turn off the vehicle, the green light flashes for about 1 min and 15 secs.

I live in southern california the coldest it gets is like 50 degrees. Its not too cold

I’m from Tustin, CA. It’s definitely not cold but wet lately.
There is a display which shows the power utilization for the motor, climate control and other things. While parked look at it and see it there is anything that seems suspicious.
  1. turn off sentry mode
  2. turn off cabin overheat protection
  3. stop checking the app unnecessarily

Do you mind showing where they are? I've gone over most of the settings but didn't get all of them to adjust to my liking. I did get to change meter view like @Hank showed.

My thought is to mostly ignore that. That's "Tesla Speak". None of the language applies here, and I don't recall Ariya having either of #1 and #2 in any working/naming. Ariya may "wake up" from sleep if remote app interrogated as a Tesla does (probably has to), so that MAY apply. I'm afraid I don't know anything about Ariya's app. Sorry.

Moving past that I'm afraid to say Hank and I agree (I believe this is a first). Battery rating is a bit voltage dependent and can be influenced by falling battery temperature. Check around, make sure it's going to "sleep" (tesla speak again), and if so it should be loosing, in reality, about 1% of actual power per day on a moderate day. Cold weather can change that of course (for the worse) for the battery will pull power to heat itself if needed, but that's usually below 32f. Admittedly I don't know Ariya's sorta crude BMS, but there should not be much variance between any LiOn EV in these regards.

I'm in an insulated attached heated garage w/heat set to 53f and 1% per day is my max loss.

For number 2, we can just open the sunroof.
Only 3 would apply, but I've not noticed any discernible power draw from using the app. Frankly though, what one can use the app for is pretty limited so it's not the sort of thing that one would end up doing enough to cause a lot of power draw.

Simple question... the car is being powered off, not just parked? The car will turn itself off (I believe after 30mins) if you exit it while it is still powered on (car is in parked, but music and climate still running). The 30mins of climate and audio usage could account for the slight drain.
