Has anyone received any Ariya map updates or heard of any projected updates? The street I live on is not in my Ariya map. We have lived here since December 2020. It just seems to be quite an outdated map. Is there anywhere you can submit map updates, corrections or map errors to? I don’t even know who they source the map data from? I’ve tried downloading map updates in the vehicle but it always says it’s at the current version. No map or any other Ariya updates so far that I’m aware of.

I used the recommended 32GB, 2.0 type thumb drive. That worked. Before I read to use this I bought a new 128GB, 3.2 type thumb drive, brand PNY. Could not get the PNY to work. I thought a 3.2 drive would be backward compatible with 2.0 but apparently not in all cases. Glad I found a 2.0 drive in a drawer.

When attempting to download the maps from the Ariya to USB, I get a message that says "Check USB or ipod." Anyone know what this means? I can't get past this step. Note - when the USB is formatted using exFAt, the system gives the message that the USB is not formatted properly. When I format using NTFS, I get the message above to check usb or ipod.

Needs to be FAT32 not exFat. Doesn't recognize the exFat.

I’m a little confused. I downloaded the update onto my PC. Abt to put in USB stick and plug it in the car. But some of you said had to download the maps from car to USB. Why? Besides the pdf manual I have doesn’t have section 7 Navigation like in screenshot above. Am I looking at the wrong book?
You DL the files from your auto, step 1. It puts some files on your thumb drive that the App needs to works right. Then you initiate the app and DL updated files from the NISSAN website. Why? Short answer is b/c it won’t work properly otherwise. 🤷🏽♀️

That is how the program can see what is installed currently on the navigation computer and if you have any updates available.
Unfortunately for me, no matter what I do, I keep getting that damned "Another update is already in progress. Please wait until the update complete message is shown before starting another." Can't tell if this 32GB PNY drive is a 2.0 or 3.2. CRAP! If anyone has any recommendations, specific steps I am missing, let me know
I think I got it now. I will update the maps later. Just out of curiosity, we all know the built in nav system sux. Update it like this, will it make it any better? Since most of us use the CarPlay or phone app Maps with better outcome.

I'm not an apple fan boy and Android Auto with waze or google maps isn't much better IMO. I don't use it that much to begin with, but will admit, kind of like entering an address into the Nissan app and have it ready for me when I get in the car. But again that's more a novelty than anything else.
I'm just anal about having the most recent data, regardless of use. LOL
Updated my maps and now my software update button is completely greyed out lolol

Another dumb update, no matter what I do, what steps or order, I can't get past that damned error. Confirmed my PNY 32 GB drive is USB 2, formatted FAT32. Tried complete reset, all maps manually and even just 1 map; same error. Almost like it doesn't recognize this is the drive it wrote the map data to in the first place and like it were thinking it was trying to start a new update. Just doesn't make sense.
Sounds like something is borked in the infotainment unit. Probably have to take it to a dealer for service.

Yeah, that's what I am starting to think too.
I updated it with a 64gb stick, 3.x type and with the usb-c connector. At least this one is compatible backwards. Kingston.

Did you have it formatted as FAT32? I can format a 64 GB to FAT32, but I'm surprised that it accepted a USB-C for the update. Maybe difference between EU and NA?
I did format it into FAT32 and just used the USB C connector without even thinking about it. There shouldn’t be any difference in EU or NA in the standard.

I agree, you would expect there to be no difference on the standards, but with automakers, who knows what they might do in the hardware/programming that is different. My wife's VW is that way, what works in the EU does not work here and the opposite is true too.
My Current Map Version is 21123_5_5......I just called Nissan Customer Service and was told NOT TO UPDATE SOFTWARE MANUALLY because I already have the updated version of map in the Nissan Ariya. She told me if I tried to update the map software manually, it will jeopardize future OTA map updates.
