Is it icy cold outside?Hi everyone I’m new to this so I hope this has’nt been discussed before.I have a 2023 87kw Ariya and fully charged will only give me a 205 mile range am I missing something?
Not for the uk I have had the car for 6 weeks average temp about 12 cIs it icy cold outside?
Probably average about 18/20 milesSpeed? Lots of very short drives? Stop and go where the stops are too quick for good regen?
Electric car batteries like to be warm, above 20 degrees C, but not too hot.Not for the uk I have had the car for 6 weeks average temp about 12 c
What about terrain -- is it very hilly? Yikes 205 miles of range almost sounds like 63kW in disguise.Probably average about 18/20 miles
Oh and welcome to the forum! Heat and AC usage could also affect the range, too. What about terrain -- is it very hilly? Yikes 205 miles of range almost sounds like 63kW in disguise.
If you are averaging 12C or 53F in the day time, then night time must be quite cold that will affect your range. Not for the uk I have had the car for 6 weeks average temp about 12 c
Hi no hills you couldn’t cycle up with ease, not driving like miss daisy but not driving like a 17 year old.I am not excepting 320 miles in the winter months but was hoping for 250 to 260 .Since I bought it new 6 weeks ago it’s only ever shown 205 miles on a full charge starting to think it needs to go back to NissanOh and welcome to the forum! Thanks for your reply we have been have mild weather in the uk for this time of year and I think are average overnight temp has been about 8c.As I have just posted I think it needs to go back to NissanIf you are averaging 12C or 53F in the day time, then night time must be quite cold that will affect your range.
I hope they are able to provide some answers for you. Please let the forum know what you are able to find out! Long shot maybe software related (the notorious "guess-o-meter")? I don't know, hopefully nothing serious...Hi no hills you couldn’t cycle up with ease, not driving like miss daisy but not driving like a 17 year old.I am not excepting 320 miles in the winter months but was hoping for 250 to 260 .Since I bought it new 6 weeks ago it’s only ever shown 205 miles on a full charge starting to think it needs to go back to Nissan
Good morning, thanks for your post I can see the sense in what you have said so will give it a few more weeks and make notes of actual miles covered which are far lower than the range the car states and then go back to Nissan with facts and figures. Or maybe I am driving like a mad 17 year old 😊The estimated range that's displayed on the dash varies depending on the recent driving you've done. The car estimates it based on the efficiency it's seen lately so if you do a lot of city driving at relatively low speed with lots of regen it'll go up, but if you do a lot of high-speed freeway driving or do a lot of fast starts it'll go down.
For example, my estimated range for my Ariya Premiere was 315 miles when I first picked up the car new. After some driving it steadied around 265 since I have to drive 36 miles of mostly 60ish mph highway on the way to work each day. Some days it would be slightly higher, sometimes slightly lower after a charge depending on how I drove. After I took it up to Phoenix - 190 miles each way - and drove 78-80 mph on the highway it plummeted to 205 miles and now it's come back up again after a week of normal day-to-day driving.
I wouldn't panic yet if the range estimate seems low. First I'd look at how your driving and pay attention to the efficiency rating on the dash. If it's low then your driving style or the roads you drive are draining more juice and lowering the range. Playing around with drive modes may help. I find B mode on the shifter gets me more mileage in normal day-to-day driving while Eco is helpful on long highway cruises where regen isn't needed. Some people might find E-step better for normal driving but I don't like the sudden regen it gives.
If the range stays at 205 regardless of how you drive then you might have a problem.
