I picked up my Venture+ on Friday and I'm overall very happy with the experience.

Purchase (Temecula Nissan in SoCal) - I received the "your Ariya has arrived at the dealer email", but the dealer was clueless. They said that the one that turned out to be mine was a demo, but a week later called and said, yea that one is actually your reservation. They promised over the phone to honor the deal that Nissan had quoted with the reservation. Unfortunately when I went to it pick up they basically said that they were aware of someone in Redlands had paid 14K over MSRP so there was no way they were going to give me the vehicle for MSRP and decent financing (or let me use the financing through my bank that I had set up). I ended up having to use their terrible financing (which I will soon refinance) to get it for MSRP. Be prepared when you go to the dealer for worst case scenario and feel lucky if they don't treat you like a mark.

Condition of car - We love the color, Black Diamond Pearl, and the inside was basically what we expected. It didn't come with floor mats nor the rear cargo cover. This was expected as noted in other posts. We picked up the Costco Michelin floor mats and they worked pretty well. I know that some folks got a call from their Ariya rep and they coordinated getting some floor mats, but I haven't been contacted yet.

EvGO - I hadn't received my activation email, so I sent an email to [email protected], providing them my VIN. First they said the VIN wasn't eligible, but I followed up noting that I was sure that I was eligible. After about a day and a half they came back and said that they email had been sent to a totally bogus email and they gave me the link that I needed to activate. I followed the directions and everything went well.

California Rebate - I submitted my application with the 3 documents that they require and was approved after resubmitting one document that they initially declined (the temp registration was cut off in the photo I took).

App - The app is better than the Honda app, which I used in the past, but it's still a little glitchy. I was getting a daily notification that the climate system had started even though there was no schedule for it to start. It also took some work to update the charging schedule. I ended up having to delete it and start over.

Outstanding Issue - For an hour or 2 every day, around 5/6 PM it's hard to read the steering wheel controls because they're not lit up. it's almost like it's having issue changing from daytime brightness to nighttime brightness. I tried checking the system settings but couldn't find a way to fix it. Has anyone else seen this? I noted in both the Engage that we test drove and the Venture+ that we own.

Congratulations!! I have not seen this issue with my Premiere yet, the change from bright to dim is immediate when I drive under a bridge or enter my garage. I'll keep an eye on it now though and get back to you if I'm driving around that 5/6 PM sunset time and see how long it takes to dim down.

Congratulations @EscoRob and welcome to the forum! Is the Ariya your first EV?

Thanks for the details regarding your purchase experience and the dealership. Glad you got your new ride!
However I will say that for me personally, for a variety of reasons (including Nissan's generally 'discombobulated' demeaner in virtually ever aspect of the Ariya purchase experience over the last year), it won't take much at all to get me to walk away from Nissan forever at this point. Any jackassery from my dealership about pricing, etc, and I'll just wait for something better.
And there will be better, most assuredly.
Until then, I'll just keep driving my 2015 Leaf, which I love; purchased back when Nissan seemed to have been a more detail-oriented and customer-focused establishment.

@Kalvin - I'll try to take some pics when she's clean again and post them. Build quality was a big factor in my decision and I'm not disappointed. She feels solid and well built... none of the production issues that steered me away from the Model Y back when it first came out.

I did have a level 2 charger already installed at home from my time with my previous EV. Bought it from Amazon and it's worked well.

@needanariyanow - Thanks for the feedback and appreciate you watching out for me.

@Chris.J.II - This is our second EV. We took back our 2017 Clarity in early December. That car was good for its purpose... a cheap intro to the world of EV for us. With a $200 lease (but really much less than that with the various rebate), but a horrible range we were able to get experience with things like charging, range, range anxiety, etc. It was really a compliance vehicle for Honda, but for the most part it was solid. The build quality was good although it was never meant to go beyond 3 years, so things started wearing out. Comparatively speaking the Ariya is definitely a step up is pretty much all phases. It's nice to not feel handcuffed by the 90 mile range (more like 50 on the highway).

@Nissan79 - I get where you're comin' from and wish you luck when your face your dealer. I too have a really bad taste in my mouth with the way that Nissan handled most of the experience.
