MyNissan App Updated

On Android (not sure about Apple) the MyNissan app has received a major update. It now has all of the NissanConnect features built in with an updated UI. Featurewise it's about the same as NissanConnect plus the old verison of MyNissan, but is laid out differently. It seems a little faster. It looks like this change makes the NissanConnect app unnecessary.

Yes, the Apple received the update also. Now, it actually has the color of my car, and updating is faster. Although some tasks are a little delayed.
Good to hear!

One of my concerns the Nissan app interface was not even close to Tesla’s. Hope Nissan keeps improving it by the time my E-Force shows up in 2024??😝
It would be nice if my NissanConnect has the ability to do remote start......

Could you please clarify the benefit of remote start? Historically, I think of remote start on ICE to warm or cool the vehicle in advance. Now, it looks like climate preconditioning can be scheduled, so what else needs the starting? I could see for defrost/ice melt if the vehicle is left outside. Is that the goal or are there other benefits?

It can turn on the climate control. What else would you want?

The remote start will allow the daytime running lights to turn on when it’s dark outside.

when I am in beach city like Laguna Beach where streets are narrow and dark, I like my vehicle to light up before I approach my Ariya.

You can remotely turn on light, flash lights, and horn.

Oh yeah! See, I don’t use this app much.

2024? They have not even started building them yet! 😕
The supply chain ran out of parts 33 days ago.. 😱 Try Quarter One 2025.. 😲
Remote start would be useful if the Ariya had self parking capabilities (similar to Tesla's summon). Nissan does show the ability to pull in and out of tight parking spaces without a person being in the car, but it's controlled by the key fob. It's only listed on their global site and the feature might be limited to certain regions. The US key fob doesn't even have the button.

Wonder IF an international fob were programmed to a US vehicle, would it work?
If you have the Virtual Key install ($450), it will have Remote Start.
Unrelated note but has anyone seen any updates for the car’s firmware? Was wondering if any past nissan owners can chime in if Nissan ever give updates.

Also I am sad to see that updating the maps requires sirius subscription. Is it possible to show phone gps onto the screen?

If you use you Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, their maps are FREE to use.

I currently have a 2015 Nissan Murano so no Apple CarPlay. I drive in Massachusetts a lot and a few years ago they renumbered all the highway exits which is frustrating using a Nav that still uses the old numbers. Finally had enough last year and paid for the Nissan map update. Some minor side st updates but still old crappy highway numbers. Thanks for your up to date maps Nissan.
I find a Sirius subscription to be unnecessary and expensive. After the three month free trail on the Nissan Leaf, I cancelled the subscription. I'll do the same with the Ariya. Most of the time I don't need maps in the fairly compact community of Bend. If needed, Google maps via Android auto should suffice.

I was offered an extended 3 months of free trial with Sirius. I do not care too much for it so I’ll cancel it after 6 months. I guess I won’t be getting anymore of those annoying weather alerts…..
With various music streaming services on the phone, other than sports, don’t know what Sirius gets you that you can’t get on the phone
And if you really like Sirius you can just pay for the Sirius app which is alot less than having direct in the car.
