I currently drive a Bolt and are looking for something with a bit more range, a bit faster charging and a wee bit bigger. Nissan Ariya sounds great. I intend to reserve right away unless they use a Chinese battery.

What other EVs are you looking at? A Tesla by any chance?
Have you contacted your local Nissan dealer about placing a deposit?

I like my Bolt a lot. It is peppy and has good range. In my opinion the interior is just OK, materials are not super high quality. Charging speeds make long range travel difficult. I once travelled from Indiana back to Maryland at sub zero temps and it was a long night. Around town it can't be beat.

I'm looking at in order of preference:

1. Nissan Ariya
2. Cadillac Lyriq (a little too fancy for me)
3. Model Y ( I really do not like the one center screen that controls everything and have head horror stories about long wait times for repairs).

I'm a hatchback/station wagon kind of guy.

I've had the Bolt for a little over three years and before that I had a Volt. Both were very dependable and great cars...and I was pretty anti GM prior to getting the two cars.

I don't think China has suffcient quality control/technology to make EV batteries. Consider articles below.

In the spirt of fairness I thought I should post that my Bolt in under recall for a fire hazard with the batter.

I intend on doing lots of research about battery manufacturers prior to buying my next EV and paying very close attention to which manufacturers are up front and clear about problems and institute a real fix under voluntary recalls. So far Chevy is doing at least OK.
