Dear Friends,
Congratulations and Happy New Year 2023.

I am creating this channel to share resources, advice, suggestions, sharing buying experiences etc..

I took the delivery of the new Ariya (my first EV) on 12/30/2022 and these are my observations.

About the Ariya:
1. Very smooth Drive, I love it.
2. No floor mats and not available to buy at the dealer.
3. No spare tire. I found out that some new vehicles not coming with the spare tire.
4. Came with 98% charged and 10 miles on it. I drove 58 miles in the last couple of days and it has 85% charge

My Experience at the dealer:
1. Since Ariya is first at the dealer, both the dealer and myself are excited. The checkout process went very well.
2. No sales tax in NJ and $4K clean energy incentive make it more exciting.
3. Since this is the first car at the dealer, the Sales representative is also not familiar with all the details. He helped me to install and configure MyNisaan app on my phone and got connected to my car :)
4. Bought an additional warranty for 8 years bumper to bumper ($0 deductible) for $2500 Since this is the brand new model, I was tempted by the sales manager.
5. When asked about Evgo and Wallbox promotions, the sales team told me they will get back to me on that.

Questions:
1. How can we set up charging at home?
2. How can we get wallbox charging unit promotion?
3. How to get EvGo promo code?
4. I heard during the last month's cold wave some of the Tesla EVs are burned or not started. What precautions we need to take to avoid that? (apart from keeping in the garage and don't drive in blizzards)

Resources:
1. Register here for EvGo - Nissan Ariya | EVgo | Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations - EV Fast Chargers (Thanks JaHo -- New buyers look out re: Nissan / EVGO promo ) Not sure which plan we need to choose. I took basic plan. I did not get EvGo promo code. May be I need to call EvGo and ask them.

Please add more questions and resources to share...
Thank you all and best wishes!!

I was hoping to be able to order rubber floor mats; can’t believe they don’t even have the regular ones available yet!

I guess as a general question, I was wondering what is the best insurance company to use, or how this new EV car affected your current rates. For example I have Geico, 2020 Nisan Altima, and pay about $100/month. Since this car is double the price should I expect to pay $200/month now? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I’m in the UK and collected my car the same day as you. I have the Ariya carpet mats and also the rear boot reversible protector mat all of which are good quality.

The only promo we have here is 3-years free Zap Map Premium. You have to type your VIN into a special promotion page on the Zap Map website but mine isn’t working yet.

Wireless Apple CarPlay is great - so much easier to use than the wired version I had in my previous ICE car.

Nissan Connect app seems good so far. It’s giving me stats on all my journeys in the car and I’ve been able to activate the climate control remotely to warm the car before getting in it.

I realise US owners have different experiences so I hope you don’t mind me posting these here.

Congratulations! So glad that the Ariyas are starting to come in! For charging at home we installed a home charger years ago when we got a Leaf. You can get the kind that are hard wired or the kind that plug in to a 220 wall socket. We leave that part up to the electrician! My understanding is that the Wallbox pulsar plus discount code is your Ariya reservation number (5-digit number) which should be entered in the promo box at checkout. There's a couple other threads on here where people already got theirs that way.

how this new EV car affected your current rates
Rates are based in part in how expensive a car is to repair, and EVs are very expensive to repair. HOWEVER with a brand new car model insurance companies have no repair history to go off of. You will most likely find that your rates this year will be low but will skyrocket in 12 months. Fair warning. I ran an example quote with my current insurer and my rate was shockingly low.

Found 2 more resources:

The NJBPU also offers residents a $250 rebate for the purchase of an eligible Level 2 EV charger through the Charge Up Residential Charger Program. For more information, including eligibility requirements and funding availability, see the NJBPU EV Incentive Program and Charge Up New Jersey website.

Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) offers rebates of up to $5,500 to residential customers for the installation of make-ready Level 2 EV charging stations. Residential customers may also receive bill credits for charging during off-peak hours. For more information, including eligibility requirements, see the JCP&L EV Driven Program website.

Glad to see Ariyas being delivered at the east coast now. Would you mind sharing your reservation number. Considering that now deliveries have started in NJ, wanted an idea on how close am I in getting my delivery.
Thanks

We have a reservation for a Venture+ too! This was the only model that did not have electric front seats. AND a non electric center console/middle storage compartment. How have you found the non electric seats? Can you move the center console where the gear shifter or is it stationary?

When I went to take the delivery and sit in the car, the first thing I tried is to adjust my seat :). The sales rep told me this model doesn't have power seats. I did not remember this option while selecting this car.

Many reservationists as myself chose the Evolve + trim instead of the Venture +. I didn’t especially want the sunroof but electric heated seats with memory was a priority.
