Hello All -- I'm new to the forum. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

I'm considering changing the dealership that I will be dealing with when my Ariya is ready. When I made my reservation, I just selected the one closest to home, but there are several others I can pick from. Today I contacted two local dealerships to inquire whether reservation holders will be charged beyond MSRP. Both indicated that reservation holders would just be charged MSRP. Whew. BUT... there are dealer installed accessories that are not within the customer's control. Accessories to the tune of at least $1500 from one dealership (haven't heard back from the other). Accessories that are kind of overpriced and maybe I don't want them. It seems like a proxy for market adjustment (at least I might get some useless accessories...).

It might be a good idea to change dealers. I just changed mine because my original dealer couldn't guarantee that they would not charge over MSRP and they said the Ariya would come with a mandatory $1,995 "factory installed" protection package. Thankfully I found another dealership that doesn't do any of that nonsense and they were kind enough to put it in writing for me.

thats great news for you. All of you finding these dealers who will put into writing no markups or no extra. You need to tell us who they are. Give them a shout out. let us know so WE can go there also and drive ( no pun intended ) to them. We need to award those dealers with customers. Help us help them.

I think that $1995 factory installed would lead to higher MSRP so you would still have to pay. I think whatever factory package added will raise MSRP,the dealer receives it this way>

I just left dealer he said everyone with Reservation Nationwide gets MSRP. Since we put deposit down. The only increase will be higher MSRP if upgrades come from factory they will be included in MSRP price.

My recent experience in considering a change to chosen dealership has revealed quite a range of business practices. So, the one close to home that I originally selected said MSRP, but that they will install a security-type package and a few other things, for about an extra $1500. Another one said MSRP plus dealer added accessories as soon as the car arrives at the lot (no word back on what they are or how much they cost). Another said MSRP plus $10000, and that it doesn't matter to them if you have a reservation. Yet another one said that they were committed to MSRP and that they do not install anything unless it comes from the factory or is specified by the customer. I'm waiting to get a confirmation back on that policy, and then I'm switching dealerships, even though it is further away from my home.

I also hope no unexpected upgrades from factory , I talked to Internet Sales MNGR he has been in contact with nissan. The dealers do add ons when they receive normal cars. The difference is ours are special order he said that is why we get MSRP we should be able to track them when shipped and arrive at Dealer. Best thing is go into dealer talk to Internet sales mngr they know the facts to much incorrect info from floor sales people. Good Luck
