I would like to preface by saying thank you to Nick (GM) at Tustin Nissan for special ordering these wheels for me. I was told that I am the first person in the nation to have these installed on my Ariya.

I asked for his permission to reveal how much I paid for these. He said it’s perfectly fine. The best part is that he will honor the same price to all Ariya owners who purchased the Ariya at Tustin Nissan.

Please note, I have no affiliation with Nissan or Tustin Nissan. I live in Tustin and always like to support local communities and businesses.

To cut through the chase, how much did I pay? $1100 + tax which includes mounting and balance. Listed price on these wheels is $1900!

I found NISMO brake calipers “covers” on EBay. Hopefully, it will dress up the wheels.

Do you like?

DUDE!!!
You Just Saved Me $1730.00!!! o_O
I just called a wheel shop and was thinking of going with these:

Even though they would not look this good on the Ariya because of the Huge sidewalls..(these look great with low profiles) I think I'll save the $1,730.00.. and just have the caps pulled.. Mine are that copper color on black.. and I HATE the look.
I can live with the stock wheels without the covers if they look like that.. I don't care if I loose 75 miles of range.. It'll be worth it~! (y) Thanks!

These wheels are really nice. I like them with the chrome trim option, and I think the color choices and combos on this car are quite good. Possibly aside from the blue only Platinum interior, in which case I would get the blue exterior if I ordered that one.

Going to be really unique for quite a while.

For people with the wheel covers, you could experiment by painting them matte or gloss black. I've seen people do those mods on other cars.

Those are nice wheels BUT keep in mind that the Ariya is an SUV and needs a rugged look.

Yes, it will look weird with 55 series tires. Last thing you want to do is slam the car to close the gap.

If you don't like the copper caps, you can powder coat it black?

Went through that look with the Rav4 Hybrid I traded in.. I want my Ariya to have that "Luxury" look.. 👍
The stock wheel "without" the cap looks ok to me it's unique.. I don't like my units to have that "Cookie-Cutter" look.. I have to be different 😎
Thinking of just going with some 20's and being done with it.. but, I think I'll get the dealer to pull the caps next week at least until I choose my wheel I don't have to stare at that copper! 😬
Sorry ……think it spoils a great looking car 🚙

I think copper caps on a white vehicle driven by a suburban housewife looks fantastic.
But.. On a Black vehicle with brush aluminum window trim...... not so much imo.
Thankfully, it's easily remedied.

Any weight difference in the stock wheels vs. the new wheels?

I can find out the weight of the old wheel later today since I have a scale. The new wheel is too late to find out on my end but I think the new wheel is lighter because it's less alloy.

In case anyone is curious, this is what the wheel cap insert looks like.

if I was to start all over again, I may consider spraying 2 coats of prime, and then 2 coats of gloss black to black out the entire wheel. I think it would look sharp?

I might do that actually. I don't know how to do it but will take it to some shop though.

Yeah, no need to worry about curb rash. Just sand it down smoothly and repaint it!

Go buy yourself the spray cans at Home Depot or Amazon and do it yourself. If you screw up, there’s Plan B with Nick.😅
I think I'm going to paint them black but because i need some contrast i want to do a little something with color because the car will be black with tinted windows so will probably do something similar to how this rim is.

The old wheel weighs 27.5 lbs.
The new wheel has plastic inserts where you can swap out gloss black or satin silver inserts. I would think the new wheel weighs 24 lbish.

Thanks Hank! Not a tremendous difference, but every gram less will help with ride quality, acceleration and range! Although some of the gains might be offset by the loss of aero covers… At least you’ll still get the first two benefits!
If someone wants to spend lots of time looking at wheels, this European site has images that will update with the wheel choice and you can change the car color also. Then you can see 3 views of the car and wheels.
