Nissan Connect App

I've never had a car with an app before, so this is new to me. I started messing around with the trip planner in the app, setup a trip to my stepdad's house about 200 miles away to see how it works. (It added a short charge stop part way. I suspect I don't need to charge at all on this route, but it's nice to see it will do that.) I see that there's a "favorites" section in the app for planned routes, so I just wanted to stick it in there for the future. The route planner decided I'm intending to leave now since I didn't put a schedule on it, and it started warming the car to get ready for the trip. That's nice, if I had actually intended to go.

Is there a way to plan a route in the app and just save it as a favorite rather than sending it at a scheduled time or immediately?
It's also not clear to me how to make a route a favorite at all.

I was also wondering if I really need the APP, I dont use my Iphone for music and I think Navigation works whether you have it or not. Any thoughts why I cant survive without it? I also think after 3 years they start charging for it?? Subscription $11.99-$24.99 I think??? its free for 3yrs

Looks to me to be totally optional. You can use it to pre-warm/cool the cabin, monitor charge status, the route planner, and some features around setting boundaries (speed and geographical) for valet and children and boundary violation notifications. There's nothing here you can't do from the car aside from the boundaries, so it's mostly a convenience thing. My dealership did explain to me that it's only free for a while. They said it's normally a three month trial on other models, but weren't sure if it's the same time period for the Ariya.

you should learn to use the app. Having remote starter from a distance is a great feature. Have your car warmed up or cool up before entering is awesome.

Good point! Being in Calif. I doubt I will ever use seat warmer but good to have. Putting on A/C for July/Aug/Sept could be a big plus. thanks
