It looks like they call it an "in-car carrier". There's a short YouTube video showing how it can be used:

I like the little dash cam -- it looks like it attaches to the backside of the rear-view mirror, and also has a rear camera that is mounted on the lift gate (although that would likely need frequent cleaning).
