When interviewed about Nissan's next sports car, some interesting insight on the Ariya was revealed:

“We could never leave this alone. It’s in our soul. You can feel this in other Nissan designs, like the new Ariya; it’s not just about fuel efficiency, it wants to be driven, for the love of driving.”

Albaisa also confirmed that the Ariya itself is likely to reach production soon. “When we design a concept and give it a name - a name that doesn’t start with ‘I’ or ‘M’ - then it’s getting close. It’s like when you visit the doctor and they’re able to tell you whether you’re going to have a boy or a girl; it’s time to give it a name.

It's nuts that a crossover is going to be as fast or faster than a Z car, at least according to Nissan. Nissan Ariya electric crossover is quicker than a Z car

downside is, the Z-car's character that enthusiasts love won't be found here, at least it lives on to an extent in a faster format:
"Electric motors have changed the world, because this idea of a pure 0-60 is less a differentiator. How you use it, how you deliver it, what it means, and, for the supercars, how many laps you can do, that matters. Naturally, it's exciting. Even the real version of the Ariya is fast — faster or as fast as a Z car,"

Yeah that's the million dollar question that everyone is trying to figure out, how to make an EV as exciting and dramatic as a vehicle with a gas engine.
