This is pretty much the same behavior others have reported when the 12V is dead. Try giving it a jump.

That shouldn't be happening with a new battery, and if it was drain due to something being left on or amiss they need to alert/report that in the app. In both cases, a dead, immobile car shouldn't be the end result.

I don't disagree, but it's been reported a few times. A couple people got bad batteries from the factory, but mostly it's been from leaving things plugged into the front USB ports, which remain powered when the car is off.

I was driving prior to issue, plugged in EVGO would not take charge or recognize car. AAA checked Battery 11.4 called Nissan Service they said possible battery cannot jump/ not being able to put in Nuetral also sucks. Future evgo plugins I will have to park where if tow is needed better access. This is not the way to start new vehicle news....Now I am back in Tacoma waiting for dealer to call. They were not familar with Warning:EV System Off. Not being able to put in neutral can really be screwed at some locations. AAA had to put skid plates under front tires and pull up on truck bed.Multiple people stopped and asked Problem with NEW Car and I had to say YES!! I am in El Dorado Hills 4 EVGO pumps ALL 4 Down EVGO says no schedule to repair , backup pumps 7 miles many people frustrated . Glad I have plug in at home I am less confident about EVGO the more I use, they dont have answers on repairs and they should. All EVGO pumps should be in a wide open area ...for tow if needed.

Some EVGO has a A/C plug in. Have you checked and tried your portable A/C charger? Slow but can get you to a nearby working DC charger.

11.4V is very dead for a 12V battery. I don't know why they would have told you to not jump it. The manual specifically says to do that - page 6-20. No idea what caused your issue in the first place though.

AAA did try to jump,no effect. The dealer also said jumping no effect if faulty battery.AAA said the 12volt battery or starter are biggest issues with EV. It also seems there should be backup to get in nuetral..Will update hopefully soon.

I had 60% battery I was just topping off while at grocery story then all these issued developed.
Hopefully the dealership gets it sorted out for you and makes it right.
The procedure to put into neutral is here. It does say when jumping you push the power button twice without the pressing the brake pedal.

Just curious, was the green charging light frequently on before this incident? I’m wondering if a high frequency or activity of the green light (signifies the 12v battery is being topped) is a telltale sign that your 12v battery is faulty. 🤷‍♂️

Also, for what it’s worth, apparently tinkering with the “charging timer” after vehicle engages charging can diminish or deplete the 12v battery. Charging timer is not clearly defined, but here is the text cited from owners manual:

“Do not operate the charging timer
repeatedly while the charge connector is connected to the vehicle after the Li-ion battery charging is completed. Doing so may discharge the 12- volt battery.”

All the electronic features mean they are computer controlled, so you can't just move a lever. In my other cars you just release the handbrake and mechanically shift to neutral. However, I still find this car pretty natural to use. The delay to get to N isn't great, but all electronic systems seem to be set up this way.

So sorry to hear that you had to deal with this hassle, and I hope that it is a quick fix. As others have noted, the 12v can often be the culprit. We had 2011 and 2012 Leafs, and replaced their 12v before they got old, never had any issues. We also had a 2019 Leaf, and that 12v went bad early on. The message it gave was "Service EV System No Power", and there hadn't been any hint of trouble leading up to it. We hadn't noticed any increase in the frequency of self-charging of the 12v, but now that I think about it, maybe that could be a problem... I took delivery of my Ariya about a month ago, and after bringing it home and parking in the garage it was doing the self-charging bit for like three hours straight. The Leafs never self-charged for that long. I haven't noticed that it has done it for that long again, but it does like to charge its 12v. I just home-charged today up to 80%, and right after unplugging, it started a 12v self-charge.

Everything has been normal for 3 months,I just pulled in at 66% to shop and top off then I noticed it would not take EVGO charge and locked I disconnected using FOB method then tried to start and leave thats when Dash said Warning EV system off?? A Bmw then pulled up he tried 5 times to get EVGO pump to work it never did. Makes me wonder whether BAD EVGO pump might have caused issue. All 4 pumps at this location are now down. Now I am thinking just charge at home to be safe and lose free charging. Hopefully dealer contacts me tomorrow (May 25)🤞

My understanding is frequent charges of the 12v battery is expected/normal. Its the same lead acid battery in your typical ICE engine, and those cars the battery is recharged every time you drive it. For whatever reason we're using the same battery technology in EVs (Tesla's included until relatively recently) even though the amperage draw for starting an EV is much less. At any rate, the frequent charges shouldn't be a problem, though with the EV usage it might be rather shallow charges.

Yes, that is what I'm thinking. I'd rather that it knows when it needs to charge the 12v and then goes ahead and does it!
