well this sucks majorly.
I had higher hopes of getting the $7500 if it were delivered in 2022.

If you signed the binding order agreement then your delivery date is August 2022, the day before the IRA was signed. You should be able to put it in 2022 taxes, basically as long as you get the vehicle before you do your taxes.well this sucks majorly.

Right now we are in Late Fall as promised the only communicaion should be between each of us saying Congrats I got notified for pickup as promised. But Nooooooooo Crickets , I guess just keep checking daily waiting, waiting, waiting. Maybe someday we will see a message like this or maybe I should just dial 1-800-Psychic and just give key word NISSAN, Im even getting tired now of joking around ...Maybe good news by wknd...sure????Communication blackout is not the way to keep your customers happy. I mean they have had a year (I reserved on 16 November 2021) to get things together. Tell us something other than by the end of the year. I'm still planning on getting the vehicle. Toss us a information bone instead of VR goggles. Just saying.
is that how it works? If you signed the binding order agreement then your delivery date is August 2022, the day before the IRA was signed. You should be able to put it in 2022 taxes, basically as long as you get the vehicle before you do your taxes.
This is how I understand the IRA clause.
The grandfathered tax credit provision would apply if you take delivery any time in the rest of 2022 or 2023. You would probably have to re-file your 2022 taxes if you take delivery after submitting them. This is all assuming the "contract" meets IRS requirements. If you signed the binding order agreement then your delivery date is August 2022, the day before the IRA was signed. Thanks for the laugh!Meanwhile in Europe:
"Hi I'd like a Nissan Ariya please"
-I'm sorry it's going to be a long wait, are you sure you want that?
"Yes, I'll wait"
-Ok, best I can do is 2 weeks, I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience
"Fine, but do better next time or this is the last Nissan I'll get"
I was told early December by my dealer in Pacific NW.I talked to Nissan this morning now they say Ariya will arrive by END of year to DEALER. Could not specify when we will see pickup date??/ Said all new information will be on Nissan Reservation site.Could not verify if any in U.S yet. It seems this is a simple question once again we are out of touch, maybe if others call they will give better info or contact us 1-800-326-9108 (Nissan) It almost sounds like our pickup date could now be Jan, JUST GUESSING I am still hoping DEC probaly real late?. Not sure how long dealer needs to process car maybe somebody will get better info: i would think all dealers would have different arrival times due to location but SOMEBODY knows the answer.
In fact, filing an amended 2022 tax return, after the initial filing, is easy to do (I have done it before on prior years). But, agreeing with improvius, the issue will be whether the IRS interprets the reservation and the associated contract to be a "written binding contract."The grandfathered tax credit provision would apply if you take delivery any time in the rest of 2022 or 2023. Sounds like they are sticking to the script they are fed. They don't know. And pushing it off to the dealers who are likewise in the dark.Just got off Nissan Ariya CHATLINE they still are sticking to Late Fall arrival. Also saying dealers are best resource for info,
I like the early DEC statement. Wish I knew someone at shipping dropoff ports so they could send me a picture of Nissan Ariya landing in USA, or at least VERIFY they have arrived??I was told early December by my dealer in Pacific NW.
I had called up my dealer early this month. Although they didn't have any clue on our deliveries, they were expecting a demo car to arrive their showroom anytime this month and on its arrival would be contacting all the reservation holders for a test drive. Also inquired on the pricing and dealer markups would apply to our booking and they had no clue.I talked to Nissan this morning now they say Ariya will arrive by END of year to DEALER.
