Hopefully this size reduction will eventually lead them to develop EVs with frunk instead of still keeping them under the hood.

I honestly don’t get the frunk obsession. I’d much rather more cabin space than a small front storage area.

I don't use mine often but it is useful if you need to keep stuff separated, either because of temperature or odor.

For the cars with a bigger frunk with drainage hole (Lightning or Mach-E) I've seen it used as an ice cooler for tailgating or what not. More practical in that regard. If it is really tiny like Hyundai or Kia... yeah, better just to give more in cabin storage with a bigger glovebox or cubby.

Having a frunk is very useful especially in a SUV. I am not talking about a small, almost useless frunk like KIA EV6 or Hyundai Ioniq 5. I am talking about Tesla M3, MY, Ford Mach E deep frunk that can fit even a small carry-on luggage or a large laptop bag/backpack.
I work for a large organization and before the pandemic, every week someone reported their work laptop stolen from their SUV. There is no safe compartment in ICE SUV. As a result, it only takes seconds for thief to break into an SUV. A large frunk is a safe compartment where you can put your valuable items locked and out of sight of thieves.

I actually like seeing the everything under the hood. The frunk was actually what I didn’t care about when I had a Model 3. Also, I like how cramming it all in gives more cabin space and makes the hood shorter, which makes for easier parking
