A video from Japan showing the front passenger seat fold down and some mattress pads put in the vehicle. That seems typical, but I found out my car doesn't allow the passenger seat to fold down all the way. This assumes the Japan version is similar to the other market versions.

How did you find out that the American Ariya's won't have that feature with the front passenger seat?

I don't know for a fact. Just doesn't make much sense for Nissan to delete that feature for just the American vehicles. I've enjoyed this feature on my Nissan Sentra, Rogue and Pathfinder. All you have to do is remove the headrest. Slide the front seat all the way forward and recline the seat all the way back. Awesome for longer drives as a passenger.
