TFL's EV channel just published their first drive of Platinum+ e-4orce in red!

I like TFL's reviews, and this one was good as I expected. Nothing surprising here, and the 4.8s 0-60 looks like it would be fun. I'm still waiting for mine ;-)

I appreciate that he called out what (IMO) is the most glaring problem with the whole value proposition: the Ariya doesn't qualify for the $7500 tax credit. For some of us, this is a showstopper and the only way I will be able to buy my Platinum+ is if by some miracle, Nissan or .gov can provide assurance that somehow it does (despite the fairly clear wording in the Biden Inflation Reduction Act).

I can't even watch it. I'll just spend the whole video crying because I can't have Red.

Yeah it's like they used up all their precious red paint on vehicles we can't have!

I thought that was a very peculiar choice to give to a reviewer considering that several reservists here have been told to pick a color other than red if they want to see their vehicle at some point this year.

When I just got a call from Nissan to tell me that the AWDs are being built now and should be delivered in April and brought up the paint. He said they had more requests for Red than they anticipated. Seriously? Did they think everyone would want Duracell copper top or boring grey? It doesn't take an advance degree to figure out that Red will be popular.

Well, I'm taking it at face value that the stupid form I signed back in August of last year grandfathered me in for the tax credit like they said it would. I live in Illinois & not only was I banking on that $7500 credit but I was also looking forward to the $4000 rebate that the state is provided for BEVs bought from dealers in the state. There was a pool of money that they set aside last July & rumor has it that pool is dry. I'm hoping that I'll get both of those.

Big money! No Whammies!

Yes. I've gone full Karen and bitch commented on every Ariya commercial I've seen on Social Media. At this point they've become infuriating. Their responses have only made it worse like "We're sorry to hear of your frustrations, please send us a private message with your Vin# and we'll look into it for you" Finally got a sane reply other than "check with your dealer" who knows nothing and they asked for my reservation number. I got a call about an hour later.

8 tenths of this message (maybe 9 tenths) is my life except for the part where they called me an hour later and told me anything actionable. Being in this forum has been SO cathartic bc finally I feel like I'm not going crazy by being so incensed by the treatment I've received from a car company that still wants me to give them 60K! Not even my wife, who has been there and kinda gets it, really gets it. I'm hoping that if you got a call that maybe my phone call is coming pretty soon also. I've got a pretty low reservation number 107xx.

He suggested that Platinum+ deliveries will be hitting dealers soon. Does anyone have any actual information on that?

As of today (March 14, 2023) there is one Platinum+ showing as in-transit on cars.com, with an expected delivery of March 31st.

Thanks for sharing that review, happy to see that the Passion Red e4orce DOES exist! Also glad to see the interior isn’t quite as “blue” as I was worried about.

I got my call about the red last week, I’m sticking with it, whenever they’re able to deliver it. Hoping it has to be by the end of the year to be the 2023 model, right? I’ll believe it when I see it though, not a lot of faith based on their previous promises.

These reports of eforce arrivals in April are somewhat reassuring 😊👍. I think it was a month or so after similar discussion that the FWD models started arriving. I seem to recall several vessels scheduled to arrive west coast in April. Keep the faith folks. Good things come to those who wait .... maybe 😜

Nissan could offer $7500 cap reduction on leases like VW, Volvo, BMW, Jeep, Mercedes, Lucid, and Hyundai are doing. In fact, I’m picking up a new 2023 Ioniq 5 Limited this Thursday at MSRP with $7500 off the lease which I plan to buyout in a month or two. It will save me $6500 after fees. I declined the exact same car/trim back in Jan 2022 as I had RAV4 Prime and Model Y back then.

I’m holding onto my Passion red Platinum+ order. Not switching color.

Nissan Eliminates EV Lease Buyout Option
https://www.carsdirect.com/deals-articl ... out-option
https://fordauthority.com/2022/12/nissa ... ut-option/
From Nissan: "2023 Nissan ARIYA EVOLVE+ FWD 87 kWh with Carpeted Floor Mats (2-piece set) and First-aid Kit and Splash Guards (4-piece set) lease model 24513 subject to availability to well-qualified lessees through Nissan Motor Acceptance Company. $52,050 MSRP incl. destination charge. Net capitalized cost of $47,685 includes a $695 non-refundable acquisition fee. Dealer contribution may affect actual price set by dealer. Monthly payments total $33,552. At lease end, purchase for $26,025, plus purchase option fee up to $300 (except KS & WI), plus tax, or pay excess wear & use plus $0.25 per mile for mileage over 10,000 miles per year. Lessee is responsible for maintenance and repairs. Disposition fee due at termination of lease term."

I'll admit that I don't know the first thing about leasing. However, the leasing "loophole" has made me quite interested in learning all about it. It seems like you can still buyout Ariyas, but Nissan is holding onto the $7500 reduction themselves. Perhaps this could change later in the year. It might be hard to turn down a lease offer with the $7500 cap reduction on an Ioniq 5 vs an Ariya priced as is.

Two others. The Edmunds review is a little strange, since they generally liked the FDW model (last link).

To be fair, they're not wrong about the multimedia system and charging. Whether those are an issue is a matter of priorities...
