Just dropped off my Ariya for PPF install and tint. The shop mentioned that they won’t do the film over the kumiko pattern grill since there may be radar sensors in there that could be obstructed. They were right, had to look it up in the manual. They also confirmed they don’t have a template since it’s so new so they’ll be cutting by hand.

They’re also putting a ceramic tint on the windows (50%) for UV protection, none of the windows came with any tint whatsoever. Will update with photos once it’s done. Would love to know if any other owners have already gotten either?
the real good experience tinters don’t ever used a machine for cutting the template. They do the old fashion way (free hand with a sharp box cutter style blade).

How much are you paying for ceramic tints? I was quoted $350.

I plan to black out the Ariya emblem, along with adding 19” gloss black wheels on my Pearl White Ariya

Check out this guy's floor mats.

Personally, I prefer Costco's Weathertech rubber floor mats. I hate the OEM carpeted floor mats because they get dirty very easily.

Cool! Yes, the cloth kind do get dirty fast. Now I also want those side mirrors with the integrated turn signals -- I think those are on the Platinum trim level though.
as far as I know, I think the outside mirrors with the LED turning signals is a standard feature for all trims.

Oh wow, those mats are funky. These are the mats that came with mine.
I do prefer the rubber floor mats, still waiting on Weathertech to get their templates in for the Ariya.

You can get the rubber floor mats from Costco. It's Weathertech brand. Some Costco stores have started selling Michelin rubber floor mats, and have discontinued Weathertech brand. Either brand, it's $30 for a full set (front and back).

My wrap/tint guys did an amazing job! They sent me these photos of them working on the car, so funny that it became a photo shoot. Shoutout to @UniqueAutoFilms!

And to clarify, the sunroof glass came factory tinted.

Looks awesome! I never heard of ceramic wraps before. Does it make it look shiny and glossy? Are you planning to put gloss black wheels?
It's called Paint Protection Film (PPF) - it covers all the painted parts so it's protected from scratches and chips. It's a lifetime warranty so if anything does damage the film, they replace for free and the underlying paint remains undamaged. I wrote earlier in this thread that my job came out to $2400 total for the tint and PPF.
You mean the PPF wrap does not make the car go faster and further?

I would assume his labor is $2000 and material is $400.

Photos, please?

It's the tint that's ceramic, not the wrap. Normally tints are carbon but ceramic is better at blocking heat, more durable, and nearly shatterproof. I don't want to go faster but I'd take it if the PPF would get me more range lol. It's been pouring out here so no photos of the car yet unfortunately, waiting for the SoCal sunshine to come back.
Great! Looking forward to see your wrapped Ariya. When you post the photos, please start a new forum for "Ariya Accessories" so that we can go back and see how the fancy accessories added to the Ariya by the owners.

Now, I wonder if the hub caps can be wrapped in gloss black? Can you ask your guy if it's possible, and if so, how much? I would like the hub caps wrapped to match the gloss black wheel well trims.

I want to PIMP MY RIDE TOO!

I just got her tinted. Geoshield Apex Super Ceramic 96% IR.
35% front, 5% rear & back.
Will take a few days to fully dry and settle.
Night driving will be interesting. :D
The sunroof did not come tinted. Planning to have clear XPEL installed on it and the windshield before the hot AF summer arrives here in Central Texas.

This post goes out to all SoCal Ariya owners living in Los Angeles and Orange County.
@cybergem99, @bufkey, @kuma, @Maruko

I met with the business owner at Amazing Window Tint in Placentia (57fwy/Chapman).

I told him I belong with a group of Ariya owners. I made a proposal to him if he was willing to give us a discount if we all get our tints done at his shop. He currently charges $500 for ceramic tinting. I made him an offer for $350 to have Ariya tinted with ceramic tints. Since business was slow, he accepted the offer. It’s $350 cash only. If we want a receipt or charge with a credit card, he will have to charge us for the merchant fee and sales tax.

This business owner has 45 yrs of experience doing tint jobs. He does not use a computer plotter to cut up the shape. He free hands everything. This is how I gauge if he’s good or not (free hand is the best).

The good thing about this offer is that we do NOT have to be there together on the same day. We can choose to bring our Ariya any day of the week. You may use my name “Hank” as a coupon code, or just tell him you are on the Ariya car club.

Full disclosure, I do NOT get any commission from him or any perks from the establishment . This is a win win proposal and everyone should be happy. Since I am getting my Ariya this Wednesday, I will be the first customer to stop by his shop to have my Ariya tinted.

Is everyone on board?

His address is

150 S. Placentia Ave

The shop is “INSIDE” the car wash plaza

I am going to Sunco Protective Films in Rancho Cordova,Ca. 916-794-2205They have 3 types for 5 windows 1)Non Ceramic Xpel Prime CS $280 2) Better-Xpel Prime XR $395 3) Best- Xpel Prime XR+ $595 I am going with #3 it gives best all around 99% UV Protection,88% Solar Energy Rejection, up to 98% IR Infrared Rejection and REDUCES Glare up to 95%. 1&2 are cheaper but for what I have invested I decided #3 BEST. Please review options my dealer has many vehicles to actually look at. They had excellent 5 star reviews 30+ years in business. Good Luck
I’m not the type of guy that would spend a premium on window tintings especially when cars depreciate in value overnight. It’s not rocket science. It just a film to reduce glares and heats. It does it’s job regardless the level of marketing hype they throw at you,

Alright. The VERDICT!

I purchased the Evolve + at Tustin Nissan this morning and drove straight to Amazing Window Tint in Placentia. I called Bong and alerted him I was on my way.
Things I recommend:
1) At arrival, reverse your car directly into his shop. Save yourself this step because he’ll ask you to reverse the vehicle into shop if you don’t.
2) Bring a small towel. Ask Bong to use the towel to cover the door panel and the switches as he work on each window to avoid overspray.
3) I recommend Dark 20% Ceramic tint. It’s not that dark. I would have been annoyed if I had chosen Medium 33% tint (White/Light Gray interior) I would have been disappointed. It’s a matter of personal choice.
4) The entire process took 2.5hrs (30mins per window). Total 5 windows
5) $350 CASH. NO FUSS. DONE! He can text you a quick receipt.

I absolutely can attest that he did a fabulous job! He’s meticulous and efficient. Highly recommend!
I will take some photos shortly and post on this thread.

What color Ariya did you ordered? I'm surprised Tustin Nissan does not have your color in stock yet. I am guessing you ordered Northern Lights? Yeah, thats a rare bird.

Tinting Knowledge:(my opinion only) I went with 20%( calif a liitle over legal but looked better) on front and 5% on back and side windows. After installed my neighbor said NOW the Ariya REALLY looks great. There were 3 levels of tint to choose from in price $295,$395,$595 the dealer showed me the difference. He had a box with high watt bulb. I put my hand on level 1 I could feel the heat,Level 2 I still felt heat but half as strong, level 3 I felt no heat at all. The difference in the car is amazing. To be honest I thought window film went on outside of window. My dealer also told me I CAN get a film on the front window considering it is very large and they have a CLEAR that works very well or I can get a tint $275 looks like more work involved. Still thinking about    Window film takes 3-5 days to cure. Yesterday I went out with wife iand Grandkid in back seat . The sunlight comes through window but no effect Grandkid did not squint or cover eyes as she did before. Also upper level will keep car cooler. I never thought about Tinting windows until I saw on this site. Thanks everyone for pics and info. the new look is STUNNING and my wife even said Smart move. Great thing about rear window being dark you can still see out normal but using rear view mirror w/camera mode you dont see rear window.
I like consistency with the uniform look on all windows with just 20% tints. It’s plenty of light to see safely on all sides.

Thank you @Hank for providing the contact details of Bong. I had my Ariya tinted yesterday afternoon with 20% on all the windows. Bong did a great job.
What color is your Ariya? Photos please.
You’re welcome! Glad I can help lower the cost.

one day, I will coordinate an Ariya get together for people on this forum living in SoCal. Meet the members and officially introduced ourselves behind the alias names. We cruise in style on PCH….

@Hank I ordered Blue Evolve+ with light gray/ivory interior. I'd have chosen Green but it wasn't selectable for trim Evolve+. My reservation was very late (39xxx) and dealer told me that it would arrive in March, but might be earlier if someone cancelled.
Regarding tint, do you have any issue seeing on the side driving at night? My current car has 25% and side visibility is not good at night. I'm thinking 15% front side windows, 25% rear and back.
If you live nearby Tustin, we can meet and I'll let you decide if 20% is too dark at night. I say it's perfect .
