We've had our Premiere for a little over a month and about 1500 miles, and have had a couple software problems. One is annoying, the other concerning enough that I would really like to find a solution.

The annoying problem is that twice when my wife or I have been driving alone with nothing in the passenger seat the passenger seat sensor has insisted there was someone there. Each time, it kept flashing a warning and sounding a chime until we pulled over and power cycled the car. That fixed it both times.

The concerning problem is that this morning we woke up to find all of the windows and the sunroof open. We live in Seattle and park outside in our driveway, so I feel very lucky that it didn't rain last night! The NissanConnect app doesn't seem to have a function to roll down the windows (and open the sunroof!), so I am wondering what might have happened.

Has anyone else experienced either of these problems?

I've a little over 2K miles on mine and haven't had either of those happen. I'd guess a faulty weight sensor in the passenger seat for the first one. The dealership should be able to take care of that if you can convince them of the fault. That second one is definitely concerning! Given that the windows and sunroof are both operated by different physical switches with no software option for operating them and no software configuration for them at all, it's also really strange....

I assume the key fob has the opening feature. Push to unlock and hold, then all windows open as long as the button is held, and I guess sunroof. Manufacturers can program the fob setting to turn it off, or other options.

Usually you can even roll up the windows using the key in the door handle, turn and hold.

Wow, it does that? I just tried it, and it does indeed. Press twice, and hold down on the second press and all windows go down and the sunroof opens. Strange feature, but could be what happened.

My 2010 Acura TSX has the same feature - Press and hold the unlock button to roll down all windows and open the sunroof. The Fisker Ocean advertises this as "California mode".

It's likely the key fob. I had this happen twice when I owned my Infiniti. First time, I was fortunate no one decided to take anything out of the car as it was street parked. Second time, it was parked in the garage. I was told by the service department that it can be an indication that the battery in the fob needs changing. Not sure how true that was, but I changed the fob battery and didn't experience it again. Genuinely surprised if this is still an occurrence. My Infiniti was a 2012.

I showed this feature, opening all of the windows and the sunroof with the fob, to my wife. Her notion of a practical use for this feature: it would come in handy if your car ended up full of bees somehow.

On my previous car I used this a lot, when approaching the car on a hot day the heat would escape by the time I walked up to it.

I had to call out the breakdown service yesterday morning. Headlight malfunction then system malfunction displayed on the dash and car turned itself off. Could not select drive or reverse. I tried 5-6 times with no luck. The RAC attended a few hours later and of course, everything was fine.

I'm going to book the car in for the above and also:

Alarm triggered by climate control.

Parking brake does not always come on when pressing P.

Lumbar support pumps itself up - noticed when getting back into the car after it's been turned off.

Lane assist/steering wheel control malfunction warning.

Icons on the top left of the screen (mobile details ie signal strength, battery level, settings icon) don't always appear.

Cruise control is very jerky (bordering on dangerous).

Dead or low 12V battery? The symptoms match up.

It could well be the 12v battery. However, some of the issues have been present since delivery of the car. There's no knowing what the state of the 12v battery was between build and delivery to me - it could have been months.

Yes, it certainly looks like it was some press of the key fob (in my pocket) that was at fault for the open windows. I didn’t know it did that. I looked through all the settings, and couldn’t find an option to disable it.

Im now having this seat belt warning light and repeated chime occurring every time I start up the car. It started happening yesterday. I’m the only person in the vehicle with my seat belt buckled. My car thinks there’s someone else inside the cabin. The warning chime will sound for a good one minute and then the sound disappears. However, flashing warning light continues on the dashboard.

I will be taking my car in next Monday since I will be at Tustin Nissan for the Platinum AWD training.
Attached is a photo as of this morning after I completed my charge at EVGO.

My build date is 11/22. I’m sure this will be common problem for us. Will keep you posted once my service guy looks into it.
