sound system getting better?

A friend who is really into car stereo system once told me new car speakers will get better over time. This was due to the speakers getting their cones broken in where the seals have a chance to losen up. The tweeters and mid-range may be electronic but the woofers and cone speakers should have seals around the cones. The source also has an impact on the sound. FM radio has a slight scratchy sound but streaming from my phone on well recorded digital music sound better. Sirius is the best but don't need another subscription bill.

For my Evolve+, the bass sound a little better than when I first got the car. I have been playing the sound a little louder than normal as I have the sunroof and windows open. Overall the sound experience has improved. Does anyone else hear a difference?

Most speakers sound better after a break-in period. Usually it's not that noticeable in a car because of outside noises like engine and road noise overwhelming the detail. The Ariya is pretty quiet inside though and I also noticed an improvement. I also notice the improved sound when playing from SXM or my own rips on a thumb drive.

I have seen 8 tracks, cassettes, CDs, USBs and now streaming for music. My days of crawling into the trunk to install subwoofer that fell on my a few times are long over. I wished a $50K car that they had Bose speakers. But if they weren't going to give you car mats, no way on upgrade speakers. Will get around to putting in a thumb drive with HD music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s....don't even know what the call it as golden oldies were long ago.

Has anyone received a Sirius XM subscription renewal? Their promotion is $5/month for one year. I plan to get the subscription because the Sirius XM sounds sooo much better in my Ariya vs my Android Auto (Pandora).

For those who are still under the free Sirius XM promotion, what do you think of the sound system vs FM/and other sources? Sirius is far better in sound?

I renewed Sirius. I take enough trips that not having to hunt stations when I want to listen to something other than my music is nice, and the $5 deal isn't bad. To keep getting the low rate after the first year, one has to play games with them though so I don't know about next year.
Quality wise, in my opinion my rips are best, SXM second best, radio is just okay, and bluetooth is okay for phone calls but the worst option for music.

My first 3 months were free. They extended another 3 free months. So now, they’re offering me $5/month which is a great deal. The catch is that I have to subscribe by May 1st.

How come we can’t get Amazon Music app on Android Auto? I have Amazon Prime but was wondering why Amazon Music app does not show up in my Android Auto but the Pandora app does …..

I can’t get Sirius where I live, they don’t offer it. But when I had it on my Leaf on the mainland, I was able to call them and haggle for a lower price. They’re pretty good about meeting the price you want to pay, just be sure to keep an eye on when it renews as it will go up again if you don’t contact them!

Did you try setting up Alexa and asking to play music?
Anyone know if that 5 dollar per month is only in USA? I'm up here in canada

You can call them and see if they have offers for current Nissan Ariya owners in Canada.

I just found out that the Sirius XM $5/month can also stream Pandora! Cool because now I can stream in HD vs my free Pandora sub that I used from day one. No longer do I need to hook up my Android Auto unless I use the Google Map. Therefore, I don’t need Amazon Music app.

For those living in SoCal or even NorCal, Aquarium of Pacific is having a special promo on their annual passes before the next rate increase on June 1st. If you’re looking for a place to joy ride in your Ariya, head over to Long Beach. 😉

On my way to the gym, I turned on my Sirius XM and played Pink Floyd channel via Pandora.

I have to tell you..... OH MY GOD! THIS AUDIO SYSTEM ROCKS! My driver side door panel was vibrating to the musical instruments being played. The audio sound is pretty damn great!

I feel bad that I gave Nissan a poor rating on their scorecard for their subpar audio system. Once I play my music on Sirius XM in HD instead of my Android Auto, the sound quality POPS!
