My dealer laughed... the price went to 60
Sorry to hear that your dealer is obviously taking advantage by intending to gouge you. There were several members in this forum (including myself) who were concerned that this scenario was only inevitable. To guard against unscrupulous dealers such as you seem to be dealing with, we were pro active months ago to seek out our dealers willing to pledge to sell our Ariya reservations at MRSP. In my case I not only got a promise from my dealer in an email, they went above and beyond by providing me with a signed sales agreement …. MRSP is listed. The timing of my Ariya sales agreement was also generated ahead of the IRA legislation signed into law by POTUS.

My ariya evolve was 48 grand. There were only 4 at that time. My brother reserved the one up from mine. Your dealer will mess you over to get there profit
I assume your brother directed his Ariya to the same dealer? If so and if your brother hasn’t received his Ariya yet, I suggest he contact Nissan immediately to redirect his Ariya to a different dealer in your region who will agree
(in writing ) to sell his reserved Ariya at MRSP. Unfortunately it may be too late for your EVolve + sale.

However here’s a thought that just occurred to me: if I was in your situation, before I contacted Nissan to switch dealers , I would attempt to leverage your brothers Ariya reservation as long as it hasn’t been delivered to that dealership yet. Your dealer may have second thoughts once he realizes that he is not only potentially creating negative social media ratings for his dealership, but he will also be losing out on a quick and easy an 11% margin on the sale of your brothers Ariya. That said hopefully your dealer who reportedly is laughing at you now will come to his senses once he realizes that you may have a stronger hand than he does . So If he finally does come to his senses , I have no doubt you’ll be getting all agreements with regard to this dealership in writing from this point forward.

$120? I don’t understand? Your Evolve + if sold for msrp @ $48950 the dealer should get an 11% gross margin. To do the math $48,950x11% =$5,384.50 gross margin. Keep in mind this is gross margin which the dealer will have to pay his overhead costs out of including potential commissions, salaries, utilities, rent etc. out of. So if he’s trying to tell you he only makes $120.00 after all f his overhead cost are subtracted from the $5,384.50 he would make off of the sale of your car, then I guess his problem is he signed up for a really poor business model.

I feel really stupid for not signing up to this forum ahead of time. My dealer at Roseville auto mall in Roseville CA. Screwed me big time. I'm stupid for not doing my homework. I thought bringing my paper in that said my reservation is 48.950 would hold. He said, it says starting at. Isn't there anything that can be done to dealers like this?

As I said before the only leverage you may have at this point is to use your brothers Ariya as a bargaining tool. (I’m assuming your brother directed his Ariya to the same dealer as well and his Ariya hasn’t arrived at the dealership yet) If my assumption is accurate and your dealer holding your Ariya hostage continues to say no to selling your Evolve for MSRP, then make him pay by not allowing him to receive your brothers Ariya. These days with new cars being in such short supply, new car dealers must work within a dealer allocation process. If your brother would switch dealers now, it will have the same effect as Nissan pulling a car from this dealers allocation.

Oh should I also say they were only going to give me 13 grand for my 2019 murano, perfect condition. I told them carmax offered 21 grand and just said no way. Well I got my 21 grand from carmax. They were great!!
Yes Carmax is great and totally knows what they are doing. Dealers are just all over the map. If you haven't already, go over the heads of the sales staff and lodge your disappointment with the general manager -- make sure they know what is going on, although they may be part of the problem.

Sounds like you best log in to your portal to get your $500.00, The dealer you directed your Ariya to is obviously out to fleece the public. Just don’t let this dealership get their hands on your brother Ariya , or he’ll have to deal with the same treatment.

Also, the portal should actually have changed to say that YOUR car has arrived, if it still just has the generic message that FWD deliveries have started, then I wonder if it could be the dealer is just trying to match up your reservation with stock they ordered.
