Patience grasshopper! Nissan ships are scheduled to be in LA harbor these dates: 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/17, 11/30 and 12/13 as of 29 September. The ship names are: Jupiter Spirit, Comet Ace, Luna Spirit and Andromeda Spirit. You can track them using the site: Free AIS Ship Tracker - VesselFinder and put in the ship name to view the ship status (actual location vs dates above). They go from Vancouver BC to Tacoma, WA to Los Aangles, CA. The ships usually only stay in port less than 24 hours.

😀😀😀😀 Thanks for info: I just thought when they were built the VIN # could be processed showing completion since each VIN should be tied to a Reservation #. I have seen multiple Nissan sites on other vehicles they sell it shows IN TRANSIT but those are probaly made stateside. But still appreciate your info its all we ask. Thanks

It's a Zen thing for me... It'll get here when it gets here, and not a minute sooner.
Also, since they've said they'll delivery by geographic region rather than reservation number, I imagine mine will be one of the last reserved FWD cars delivered anyway.

Here is an updated vessel schedule as of 14 October. Arrivals have slipped a bit. While I embrace the Zen, this bides the time a bit.

So it looks like Jacksonville received shipment 10/11, L.A and N.Y on 10/17 so now it depends on time frame from Rail or Truck deliveries, things seem to be kicking in. It seems 1 ship makes multiple drop offs. Hope Calif does truck deliveries because they are talking Rail Strikes again which could have impact, U.S but Im staying Positive, Good Stuff

Ships depart from Yokohama or Kobe. According to Wikipedia, the Ariya is manufactured at the Tochigi plant. This is much closer to Yokohama than Kobe — do we know if that is the port of departure for this make?

Reservation holders did get calls over the last several weeks but just to remind people of the reservation and, if applicable, the “binding contract” for tax purposes. There was no information provided about exact delivery timeline other than what is generally known (late fall).

Hate to rain on anyones parade here but Nissan dealers must still be given the green light by Nissan Corp. to contact Ariya reservation holders so they can place the reservationists final configuration order details with Nissan. To confirm this I just had an on line chat with Katie from Nissan. See below:

So if there are indeed any Ariya‘s on a ship headed this way they are all likely all earmarked for Nissan dealers to be used as their demo vehicles. I contacted my dealer last week and my dealer still could’t even view my reservation in my portal. So I continue to sense many dealers are a little frustrated with Nissans limited line of communication as well.
Bottom line: Seems to me that unless dealers are instructed soon to contact Ariya reservation holders to place their final configuration order(s) - Nissan is rapidly running out of time to make deliveries in the USA ahead of the projected drop dead date of December 21.

That was my understanding as well. Which makes me believe that none of the cars currently on ships (or soon to be) are destined for anyone who hasn't received a final order call. And it doesn't look like anyone has received that call.

As of 10/22/22 there are 1,077 Nissan Dealers. Each ship holds 5000 cars+ since Nissan has their own fleet. Even if every dealer gets a demo model this is to many ships heading this way per (C) as stated above. Multiple ships already docked per calendar date. When Nissan calls it will be just to verify the ORDER we put in already with no changes allowed.

I doubt each dealer will get a demo. When I talked to my dealer he said they would get a demo for a limited time window when I can test drive. That leads me to believe that demos will be shared between dealers and each will have a week or two. They may not even get the demo on site since the dealer said I would schedule the test drive online and they would come to my house with it.

I thought I remember reading the UK customers got a call from Nissan 7-9 weeks before arrival to confirm their reservation. If true, have any US customers received this call?
Nissan has been calling those with reservations the past few weeks to confirm orders and answer questions -- except for the "When will my Ariya arrive"? Nissan is also working with a vendor to give discounted home chargers and installs. If you haven't gotten a call and have a reservation from the beginning of the year, I'd check in.

If your portal still allows you to edit your configuration (as mine does as I’m writing this) it’s a pretty good sign that Nissan has not built my Ariya yet. Everything considered these days, Nissan would be foolish to build any Ariya without the dealer first contacting the reservationist to confirm a specified order.

I disagree. Between trim and color pick there are maybe 12-15 reservation configurations so if they just build a mix of them they can figure out who it goes to when it arrives on US soil. That’s probably when they limited our choices of colors on each trim.

However……..your logic doesn’t consider the on line chat I had this morning with Katie from the Ariya pre sales team who stated : “ When the time comes to order your reserved configuration your preferred dealer will contact you to confirm your build, and place your order for a new Ariya.” (Please see screen shot that includes a portion of my chat with the Nissan pre-sales team I posted earlier.) This process also makes total sense as it somewhat resembles our 2011 Leaf reservation orderiing process. ie We had to confirm our configuration at that time as well before our Nissan dealer could place our final order.

Both can be true. The order could then be filled by sending you a car that had been offloaded from a vessel on the coast - a pool of inventory that they can pull from as orders are confirmed. Or if they don't have one specific to your request, one that is en route, or one that has yet to be built. Regardless, there are multiple ways to skin this cat and none of us really knows how they're going to do it.
