Hi all, new member here so please forgive me if I post this incorrectly. I'm looking for info on whether the tow package can be put on the engage and if it affects the warranty. I only find it listed under the AWD model. Cheers

Towing capacity is limited to 1500lbs. It will not void the warranty as long as you comply. As of now, no one has a clue when the tow receiver is available. However, at Tustin Nissan, I was told that they have the roof racks available for sale.

Thanks Hank I did see it was limited to 15k but only saw it was available on Awd. Cheers

Could you elaborate please. Do you know of some issue even though the literature says it's allowed on the AWD. Cheers
You do you, but you're adding drag and weight to a single motor system. They will certainly be able to tell if you've over-heated the motors, which you likely will if towing much of anything. Want to move some bikes around or load up a receiver storage rack? Go for it if you find a way.

Like as not E-trailer will have the aftermarket solution if/when it's available.

Not sure your advice of DONT ad a towing package is the correct advice !!! Have a towbar in my 87kw evolve and tow a small caravan. We have a growing ev towing group here in the uk 🇬🇧 with Tesla Kia and bmw !!
How many pounds would you estimate that the small caravan you tow is? Have you been satisfied with your 87 kw Evolve FWD‘s ability to tow?

The caravan is an Eriba puck ( 1500 pounds ) the towing is limited to this on FWD cars and 3000 pounds on AWD cars . The towing capability is absolutely excellent, smooth and gradual power transfer. As I live in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 with the gradients the range does drop quite a bit . But if you choose to stay on the flat it is much better.

Awesome, thanks for that information. I had considered towing our 5x8 utility trailer occasionally for light duty loading around town. My utility trailer only weighs 800 pounds empty. However I may have to wait until the warranty is expired before I do that since for whatever reason Nissan currently does not support towing with the FWD trim in the US.

No problem at all …….that’s very strange for you guys in the US . Nissan accessory website shows towbar with weight limits and 7 pin & 13 pin electrics

Yes thanks very much for the info. Do you know for sure your warranty is good if you tow in the uk? I'm from Canada and I'm getting the shrugging shoulders when I ask at the dealship ie their not sure.

The only thing I can say is the towbar is a genuine Nissan part ordered & fitted by a certified Nissan dealer that I purchased the car from . I’ve been buying cars from this dealer for many years and I’m sure they wouldn’t carry out any work that would invalidate the warranty.

I have been towing trailers since before I had a drivers license. small utility trailer horse trailers and large car transporters. I have used everything from a Citroen wagon to a ford F350 Diesel. Currently I tow a 20 foot Featherlite covered trailer with an E450 motorhome. The first time I helped tow in the UK I was truly amazed that they towed much more with much less than I was use to. I guess it is just what you grow up considering normal, we have been use to bigger cars and cheaper fuel then Europe and of course they don't have the mountain passes we do here in the west.

I've been towing trailers for 30 years... Towed a 19' full size trailer with a Ford Windstar, then a 21' full size trailer with a Toyota Sienna. Both worked fine. Most recently I towed a different 21' trailer with a Honda Pilot. Stay within the manufacturer limits, use a high quality hitch designed for the job (I used a Hensley Arrow), properly setup for the vehicle (can't transfer a lot of weight to the front axle of the Pilot, for instance), and some common sense about speed and conditions and you really don't need a huge tow vehicle.

A couple years ago I replaced the last trailer with a Class C motorhome (on Chevy 4500 chassis), and no longer needed the Pilot for towing duty, thus the decision to trade in the Pilot on an EV. I have a 2nd car - a 2019 Ford Fiesta - setup to be towed 4-down behind the motorhome. Really wish someone would come out with a 4-down towable EV! It's a bit jarring going from driving the Ariya to driving the Fiesta. :D
