I’m pleased to report that I collected my Ariya this morning. It's an Advance 63kWh base model in Aurora Green. I had a very pleasant drive back from the dealership. Even being stuck in a traffic jam was so much less stressful then the endless gear fiddling of my old ICE car.

It’s early days, obviously, but first impressions are how quiet it is, not a squeak or rattle anywhere. Screens are great to use and very responsive. We set up wireless Apple CarPlay while I was at the dealership. I set up Nissan Connect this evening and that seems to be working fine, although I haven't done a great deal with it yet.

I asked about ZapMap Premium as I’d read elsewhere that you get it free for 3 years. That is valid but can take a few days to come through.

Unbelievably I saw a copper coloured Ariya driving in the other direction on my way home. It was the first one I’ve seen out “in the wild” other than the one I was driving myself!

So far, so good. 24 miles driven so far and all very nice indeed!

There are mainly US buyers on this forum and I've been very sorry to hear that dealerships on your side of the pond are trying to get more money out of people who pre-ordered. We don't have those sort of issues here in the UK, perhaps it's because of our tighter consumer regulations? I've no idea. There was never any question of the price I pay being higher than the agreement I signed in May 2022 - including the £500 discount I negotiated with them at the time. The retail price has gone up a few times since then too so I'm content with the price I paid.
